Got this reply when I asked about specialist games and old Fantasy stuff.

Thanks for the email.

At the moment the made to order service is being tested, so I am afraid I don't have any information on what (if anything) would be next up. I will pass your email along though to make sure interest in more miniatures like this is registered with the people making the decisions.

I am sorry that I cannot be of more help in this instance but if you have any other questions, please let me know.
Kind regards

The monkeys. I would throw a lot of cash to get my hands on some Dwarf, Tomb Kings and Bretonnians characters and maybe some Dogs Of War stuff aswell.

By the way anyone noticed that the old metal regiments are back? Those are up with webshop only tag. I can see Steel Legion, Vallhallan, Tallarn and Mordian Iron guard.

Any as it looks I happy with GW. Keep up the game and bring back the Old World!

Made to Order Products

We all love a bit of nostalgia in miniature form. Throwbacks to our childhood and our early forays into the worlds of Warhammer bring us all a little bit of joy, reminding us why we love this hobby. Today, we hope to bring you a little bit of that nostalgia with the launch of our Made to Order service. We can’t share our favourites as we are too busy buying them, so read on to find out the details...

What is Made to Order?

Sometimes products we haven't made for a while become available for a limited period of time. These products can be found in the 'Made to Order' section. They will always be available for at least 48 hours, but the more you buy, the longer we'll keep them on sale! As we don't start making them until we receive orders they can take up to 28 days to dispatch. You will receive a dispatch email when they leave, so you know they are on the way.

I am surprised that the primarch of the Alpha Legion doesn't know everything

I was the last guy to cast votes for Armies on Parade for my store. After I handed in my votes they tallied them up and declared winners. My store had each person vote 3 times and it had to be for 3 different people to help cut down of shenanigans such as bringing lots of friends and family to vote for you. I didn't enter I just wanted my sweet sweet Steel Legion commissar so I tossed in the last 3 votes just for fun.

None of my picks won though

I'm pleasantly suprised witht the pricing. It's more than it would have been back in the day, but not bad by current prices.

The $15 Enginseer seems like a bargain compared to the $36 Adeptus Mechanicus Tech-Priest Dominus.

Hoping they break out the old Genestealer cult models. At the very least the Magus and Familiar.

Tempting to get the Kasrkin special weapons dudes for my Inquisition acolytes, but $21 for 2 dudes each is a hard pill to swallow.

With a brand new plastic range just out on the shelves I'd think that highly unlikely. Not to mention I severely doubt they have those mounds anymore.

They certainly seem reasonable, in most cases - and do kinda show up the prices for the Finecast & plastic single characters for how insane they are...

aside from the fact that the Dominus blows the Enginseer out of the water as a sculpt, and comes with head and weapon options...
even the new plastic Enginseer mini is better than the old one...
the movement, and negative space, give the new plastics a lot more life, in my opinion...

looking through the "made to order" offerings, it is cool to see Guard getting some love
i already have all of them, though...
i'm just happy they are not Finecast!!!

I don't have the prices for when they were last available, but I do have a 2006 price catalogue for kits, bits, and sprue prices to compare. Some of them are spot on.

First price is current, second is 2006 (in USD).

Cadian Kasrkin (10 model set) 41.25 40.00
Cadian Kasrkin special weapons 17.25 12.00
Sly Marbo 15.00 15.00
Techpriest Enginseer 11.50 8.00

Really, I was talking about the $21 price difference between the two, but thanks for sharing your opinion on your preferred aesthetic.

I don't know how familiar you are with spincasting metal models, but GW could turn out a new mold for them for under a $100.

True though, they may not want competition to their current models, but I think there are plenty of people who would gladly throw down $15 for a different Magus sculpt, that wouldn't spend $60 or $150 just to get another copy of a figure they already have.

Also, the existing boxed options come with 2 familiars, even though you could use 5 between the Magus and Patriarch (can't remember if Primus can use them), and there is no other option to obtain them from GW.

This is pretty cool. I mean, besides the Kasrkin, they're all terrible models (that Solar Macharius model *shudder*), but it's a good idea. They have had some pretty great stuff over the years. Hopefully we'll see some more winners come back. And if not, well, at least some people will get to enjoy their new old models.

The $36 Dominus and $30 plastic Enginseer are barely marginally better than the $12 metal Enginseers on their own, and NOT any better if you want models that match a 2E metal IG army like the one I own. If the new sculpts were $15, I'd consider them, but at $30+, no way, which is why I ordered both of the old metals today.

for my money, the new plastics were more than worth it...
the old metal Enginseers have never made it out of the metal mountain, because i wasn't inspired enough to paint them...
i am almost finished painting the Dominus, and the plastic Enginseer is sitting on the table, waiting for some love...

i get that many people worry more about price than anything else in these conversations, but quality is king to me, and i think the new plastics are better quality sculpts...
if the old metals make you happier, that is cool...
i liked them enough to buy them when they were new releases
i'm just happier with the current direction of the move to plastics...

cheers

The Dominus is a much bigger model. There's no real comparison there.

Compare it to the super-overpriced plastic Enginseer.

To be honest, I didn't know what an Enginseer was, so I just poped over to Admech looking for a comperable model.

I absolutely love that they're doing the print on demand thing with OOP models. I imagine they're gonna make a lot of money with those Kasrkin; people everywhere I've gone seem super excited for them. I'd normally be all about picking up some old metal Guard, but my Valhallans are well over a hundred strong at this point, so I'll abstain for the time being.

Now, if Arbites/Enforcers get reprints, then I'll be in trouble!

I imagine so. Very wise and fitting to send the guard in first to test the waters.

Hopefully it'll do so good that GW decides to make this a permanent thing. There's really no downside to this. (Except for the Ebay scalpers losing their trade, of course. )
