Looking good Dave, this building is shaping up to be one of your best yet I feel.
I just thought, check out the images of Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia in this link - it was used as the asylum in Twelve Monkeys - the interior 'decoration' is perfect for your FO style building

@Theo...I hope you have the time of your life man! I only knew NYC from TV and movies before I went. It was such a surreal experience! Although I can't for the life of me figure out WHY they don't maintain the sidewalks better in the richest city in the world! They are worse than Fallout pavements near Times Square.
@Shas- that was the BEST rag for reading on the can for sure!

OK I have not mentioned anything as of late concerning this building for a simple reason, I was bidding for the same model of ebay and lost
I found it after your earlier builds using o gauge models inspired me to look, however these are not that easily found over here and seeing one at a good price I bid only to loose at 8 seconds less .
However now I am over my small childish tantrum I must say this is a dam fine looking building and hope you have as much fun with it as I hoped to have
No I cant wait to see you add your magic touch to it along with the sprinkle of FO any chance of a mini next to it for scale preferably in the door way
Also love the dirty windows did you just airbrush clear plastic for that result then ?

I found a couple of these Ameritowne Building fronts today at my local Hobby shop. They look to be great kitbashing fodder, and the prices are phenomenal! I'd been gawking at the ads for them in O Gague RR magazine for awhile, but the price was so low, I thoiught they were too good to be true.

YES! But I need some little stick-on letters. I saw some used at the LEGO show on road names for locomotives and rolling stock. They have a nice thickness, gives them a 3D look.

Those may indeed work! I think I need to build the structure of the sign first though, then get the lettering. I've taken screenshots from all angles and all the letters all appear to be the same size. The shapes sort of interlock in a rather complex way, so It'll take some planning and wrapping/bending plastic.

Dave could you not just build each section as boxes then gently sand the corners round, then stick them together to make the complete sign like you said break it down into shapes
