What do you think about WHFB miniatures conversions used in WH40k?

as long as their on appropriate bases, and are clear as to their purpose...

For instance, my Fantasy DE army, i am using a 40k DE Archon model as a dreadlord.

I've seen some really good looking chaos marine conversions that use the WoC box from fantasy.

Don't have a problem with it.

It's not like WHFB even tells you base sizes any more - and 40k hasn't specified base shapes of any kind in decades.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Although, you'd swear differently from all the people that whine about square bases when I play my Daemons in 40K.

Hell, I'm okay with miniatures from other companies so I'm not going to give anyone crap for using minis that have the same overall design aesthetic.

Let me ask just one thing: why not? If you think the fantasy mini look better in your ideia of your army, who I am to tell you how you should make your army?

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...
My take on Demiurgs (enjoy the reading):

A while back when I was considering starting an Orc army, I played around with the idea of making feral orcs. I was going to use bow's and arrows, I would model a little green stuff stick of dynamite on the arrows. Ogres were going to be my killa Kans, complete with large boulders with the phrase "rock-it" painted on them, and little grots sitting "master blaster" style on their shoulders. The large spider from fantasy was going to be a count as for trucks, and the dinasaur looking thing would be a battle wagon....In the end I scrapped the project when I realized just how many orcs I would need at 2k!!!

I frequently use orc bits in my ork conversions - nearly all the bits are compatible. So long as models are appropriately 40Kerized to look like they actually belong on the 40K battlefield, it's not a problem.

How would you tell the stats of WHFB minis if they are used in WH40K

Nothing long with a VC lord as mephiston. I see it a lot.

It's spelled "cavalry." NOT "calvary."

They would have the stats of whatever 40K unit they were being used to represent.

For example, player A has an Imperial Guard army.. He doesn't particularly want to buy that many cadians, so to fill out some of his troops, and in developing the fluff for his army, he decides that a unit of Empire State Troops will fill in nicely.

Again, so long as they are appropriately based, and it's easy to distinguish what weapon is what, it's all gravy.
