Curious what the third story is that goes with the Vaults of Terra omnibus, I remember having read Argent and the Interrogation of <REDACTED>, but can't remember what the third one was and if I've read it or not.

The other two bridged novels, so maybe the new one is an aftermath / epilogue of sorts?

There were 3 Vaults of Terra books:

Carrion Throne (character intro)
Hollow Mountain (the big astronomicon outage)
Dark City (big demon siege of the Emperor's Palace)

And there are also three short stories in the anthology.

Is it something worth picking up and reading?

And does it move the story forward at all, or do we end up basically right where we started, minus the death(s) of overall unimportant characters?

I don’t know about moving the plot forward, but I really enjoyed reading them. I’d say they’re worth picking up if you like grimdark Warhammer 40k fiction.

Ha! Indeed I do - and I missed out on these the first time around, so I will pick them up via this omni - thank you Bob!

Four books in, and the cover art still shows Gorgias with two eyes.

Stultum! Magnum errorem!

Also, from GW's description:

– The Carrion Throne (novel)
– The Hollow Mountain (novel)
– The Dark City (novel)
– Argent (short story)
– Sanguine (short story)
– Okira (short story)

Now, the Interrogation is left out and I certainly don't recall reading either Sanguine or Okira. Might have to get it now.

It's certainly central to the post-rift, primarch 41k universe. The Astronomican crash, the Demon Outbreak on Terra and all that.

Named characters survive IIRC, and are witnesses to major events.
