Interesting, Ashes of the Imperium Limited edition is not as limited.
If it sells out within a few minutes they will create another batch.
They may as well just do a made to order when they do the second release and just make loads, seems silly not to!

Definitely the right move. Having a limited period, rather than a limited amount, makes the product less appealing to scalpers, whilst not entirely removing exclusivity.
But the wording is “look to”. Not will.

TBF I think that just means "if it doesn't sell out for two weeks then people obviously don't care about special editions outside of SOT that much and we won't bother." But it's a book about Primarchs. Even if it entirely neutralises scalpers it will sell out within the hour.

If it's that easy to 'fix' the scalper problem, it kind of implies that the constant 30 second bunfights for every release were a deliberate choice...

Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but (at least to me) very quietly BL just re-released the "First Founding" book.
When it first came out, it was quickly sold out everywhere and I've been looking for a copy for a bit. Just picked one up, easy peasy.
Have a stupendous day, folks.

Having the books in hand now, it turns out that 'Archmagos' was first published in 2026, according to tis own pages! It's from the future!
And the 'Hereticus' annotated edition mentions a hunt for Quixos on the back cover - did someone print a 'Malleus' blurb there by accident?

No, its the first book in the Scouring series. Directly after Horus is killed and then into the rebuilding and politicking in the wake of an Emperor newly ensconced onto the Golden Throne.

After the first failed attempt at selling this I was wondering if there was a second print run authorized to combat the scalpers.

In what story or when did they put the emperor on the throne. The end of the last HH book seemed to stretch forever on audio so I may have missed it but I don't remember them bringing the body back.

From what I remember, you don’t ‘see’ them put the Emperor on the throne, just Malcadors stream of consciousness as the Emperor’s body is brought up to the throne and Malcador is taken off the throne.
And I finished Ashes of The Imperium. Quite a lot to digest. Loved it, and I’m hyped for this series. Its really re-ignited my interest in this setting, as the Heresy/Siege was such a slog towards the end that I only begrudgingly finished it.
Its a good mixture of bolterporn, Primarchs and humans scheming/politicking each in their own ways and seeing the ground being laid for the foundations of the Imperium that we all know and love/hate. The perspective characters were varied enough that it never got boring.
My only criticism is some big characters have tiny roles, like The Lion and Russ and the beef and reconciliation between the two was extremely brief and will probably/hopefully be covered/expanded on in another book. The Khan is still gravely wounded and barely gets a word in.
One thing of note, and this is purely my opinion:

Not sure if its new art, but I think its the first I've seen both pieces and they are pretty stellar as book covers.

Would it shock you if there was a whole trilogy from a Word Bearer's perspective?
I'm actually looking forward to this one, stories of marines needing more than just brute force to solve problems are a good change from just bolter porn. Word Bearers are supposed to be known for their power to convince mortals and be persuasive, hopefully this new book shows that off.

Darker Apostle!
The middle book of a new trilogy! Automatically Appended Next Post: Lord Damocles wrote:There are three separate Necron characters named Setekh... I doubt that if they know they care.
Setekh must be like John Smith or Mohammed Ali or Wong Zhang Wei over there.
This one time the bell boy was in the Monolith Lobby and he was all like "Message for Mr Setekh" and like 12 guys stood up.

A few different books up for pre-order next week. Most importantly, a Vaults of Terra omnibus!
Been waiting for the Siege of Terra omnibus but why no Garro novella? It's still never been released in paperback and I always assumed it'd be included in a omnibus with the other two novellas.
Edit: apparently Garro is due to be part of a larger collection in the summer
