Ok, so to blend in the rocky areas a bit I put some dead grass about the place (straw
gw grass stuff).
Probably could have blended the colours a bit better but it does the job.
Next up are some pics from the next day after all the glue has dried properly. I also gave the entire board a spray of matt varnish to help the grass stay on, also because I didnt want the rock areas to be shiny-ish.
The random dead grass spots are just where there were bald spots that I fixed. Looks a bit out of place, but it doesn't worry me much.
This is just a pic of the clips that hold the board together, they are incredibly annoying to attach to the board sections, but I do have to say they hold the board together quite well...after half hour of putting the clips on..
Ok last pics, just to show off a couple of models on the table after completion.
Overall the project took about 3 days to complete and the following materials:
-Roughly 5 tubes of cheap acrylic paint
-a can on black undercoat
-a can of matte varnish
-a rather large bag of green static grass (something along the lines of 5-6
gw sized tubs of grass)
-some pva
-a bag of ballast (for the hill sides)
-some brushes (house painting brush is good for doing the pva)
I think if I ever do up another one it would have to be snow based with lava coming up around the skull areas.
Now I just need to do up some terrain it the board is good to go.
