Not sure if this is in the right place or not, so sorry if it is. I have been looking at forgeworld kits but I'm located in the U.S. so I'm not sure how to go about purchasing them since i don't have pounds. I use paypal so do they do the conversion for me or do i have to do it a different way. I guess I'm asking How do I go about purchasing forgeworld if I live in the U.S.

yea, just use paypal.

I've ordered from forgeworld, was very easy and painless.

Just expect up to a month for delivery time.

Select items you want, add them to your cart.

Select "Check out".

Enter your credit card number.

The bank takes care of the conversion. You'll probably get hosed on the conversion rate. You'll definitely get hosed on shipping costs.

Just use Paypal or your credit card. They will do the conversion to pounds for you. It does take a while for shipping sometimes.

Most standard bank check cards have a visa number, that works just fine.

If you select Express Shipping (which is $20 more), you will get your stuff in about a week, also if you spend 250 pounds (about $480 US), express shipping is free.

Everything I have ever ordered from Forge World has shown up in fine condition (twice in the last 8 years I have had bad casts, which they replaced).

Now taking commissions. New website!

I have a debit card for my PayPal account. I get 1.5% cash back on all "signed for" purchases.
You should consider looking into one of those.

I ordered a few Forgeworld kits last summer, paid for standard shipping, and I received them about a week later. Far faster than I expected. The box they came in was a bit banged up from the post, which had me concerned, but all items I ordered were fine.

I've never had a problem with something being damaged in the mail, but my orders have also always been big enough that they send it UPS.

I've only had a couple of instances of damged/incomplete kits. All of which were made good by Forgeworld with a phone call.

Everything is made to fit current models.

If you've ever purchased anything internationally it's simple enough. Your bank/Paypal does the conversions for you and you're all set. It's a good idea to Google gbp to usd and make sure you know how much everything costs before you commit though.

Never had anything damaged because of the transit (and even if it was, that wouldn't be FW's fault, that'd be whomever the shipping company is, be it Royal Mail, UPS, whatever).

I put in over 10k in FW orders last year for people at my shop. Had a couple of pieces come in damaged, more vibration than 'box crushed', and FW took care of those very quickly.

They don't take Paypal, but I pay for all my orders with my Paypal debit card. It's used just like a credit card, but deducts from my paypal account. Easy to get, directions on the FW site.

That is a good point. As of right now the pound to dollar rate is 1:1.56...so a 100 pound item would be $156 US dollars. Keep that in mind, as FW stuff is pricey and you can run up a huge bill fast.

As others have said its easy to order, just like any other place. Your bank/ credit card or paypal will handle the conversion. Some cc companies may charge you a currency exchange fee.

I've had stuff damaged both in transit and (replacement parts) damaged by shoddy packaging (they threw everything in a zip-lock baggie). I rang them up both times, emailed them photos, and they fixed everything up without a lot of stress.

I find www.xe.com to be a good site for this. Easy to use and well laid out.

this might be a little late but the models are very well done in my personal experience. Be sure to make sure that you know what you're getting because they sometimes are just bits.

shipping generally isnt the problem, Forgeworld's ability to send you models that need a lot of clean up on the other hand is a point of frustration. Mold lines and flashing and resin tabs are the norm...but I will say they've gotten much better then they used to be
