Do want! This makes a nice Sarge, maybe even a Sternguard one...

I guess this model will be available as finecast in mid 2013... this is waaaay too good to be "wasted" as a exclusive miniature for a significantly smaller group (GD) than ALL space marine players...
Except Space Wolves, this model fits in with all SM armies - the blood angel iconography is not significant, compared to other BA stuff.

DAMN IT! Now I have to go to Games Day all the way out in Chicago. I wasn't going to, but I must have to have this model. 2nd edition is when I first entered 40K, that box art has a lot of sentimental value for me.

This seems like a fairly poorly thought out argument. Games Day miniatures are not for mass market retail, which means they're not really trying to "get customers," but rather excite their core fan base into attending an event.

It's possible to celebrate the past without thinking the present is terrible.

I do agree with this, though... there a lot of models posed like this in metal that I'd prefer over this one.

I do see his point though. You take a limited run, limited access mini, then couple that with Finecast's quality issues and you set yourself up for bad press and pretty much the impossibilty of returns.

I wonder if they will do like that Dwarf Demon Slayer GD model and package it in mylar instead of a bubble blister?

I must be one of the few people who doesn't want one of these, at least if the reactions posted within are anything to go by.

Don't get me wrong, nostalgia has it's place and all that but I have never really been one for retro minis - the sculpts just look so dated and clumsy to my eyes. Same for a lot of the artwork really, to be honest.
