mm... not sure if its the lighting, but that plasma cannon looks like a flop top me.

I would like to see another shot of the plasma cannon the angle on that pic doesn't do it justice I think.

I'm wondering if the area in the very middle of the top of the gun should be glowing though.... wouldn't the parallel structures flanking it block out the light?

It's actually mostly drybrush work - I started with the airbrush, then shaded with ink, and then finished with drybrushing.

It's nicely done to be sure.

there we go, 'twas the lighting after all. It looks much better now.

still not sure about the OSL on it though. It puts me much more in mind of frost than light, but i have this problem with blue in general, so its a bit of a moot argument.

the twin lasers put me in a seething rage of jealousy though, those are gorgeous.

it's gorgeous work, to be sure, but for some reason this makes me think it's coated in frost more than glowing with plasma power.

Glad you like it after all poda_t, although I think you and varl have a point - it does look a bit 'frosty' - with hind sight maybe I sould have done it red or green - but hey, it's done now and I'm not repainting it!

Good news! Got my magnets today - this means Fluffy will live! MWAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA! Will post more pics tomorrow/Friday - got to get him ready for Saturday

The lighting looked fine to me, thanks for tossing up another picture. It looks much better in this shot. Your Osl work is quite impressive as is your whole army so far.

Pics tomorrow. Fluffy is now built and ready for action. I've still got a few details to do, but he is pretty much finished.

FLUFFY LIVES! A few little details left to do - I want to add a/some banners, and there's some cables to fit (although I may not worry about these)

Love the bright, contrasting colors on the weapons. They look like they're really glowing. Amazing work.

you know, i don't like that plasma gun, (i think i know why it has that frosty look, (the spar between the two sets of coils should have retained more of its own color)

but now with the whole thing together and the contrast between the blue and the red, I find I am actually quite fond of it

I have to say as far as the plasma blast gun goes, Mrs monkeyh said "Is that some kind of freeze gun?" Me "Er, no, it's a PLASMA BLAST GUN! " (10" blast template - can't wait to dish that one out tomorrow)

Battled today - Fluffy performed really well. Sorry the pics aren't that good. 4500pts Orks vs CSM's. His plan was simple, charge everything forward and overwhelm me with sheer weight of numbers, my plan was equally simple, keep them at arms length and blast the crap out of everything - and it worked quite well for me - well to start with. After about turn three I thought I had it in the bag, his super kustom battle fortess was wrecked, my scorpion had his gargant tied up in the middle, and Fluffy and the plague tower were causing chaos. Then the scorpion got destroyed (by his killa canz of all things) and the pendulum swung in the orks favour. I couldn't believe it when a mob of ork nobz destroyed the plague tower which had already lost a few build points, I was running out of troops and armour and suddenly battlewagons were disgorging loads of the little green blighters. In the end it was two objectives to one, a narrow win for the orks. Great battle though and good fun had by both sides - and I'm pleased to say Fluffy came through it unscathed (void shields are great! Wait 'til I get a reaver which has even more of them!)

Nice job on the Vulcan mega bolter. I dont know how I feel about the blue and red glow... seems like they need a dark wash or something to lower the lighting effects. Looks great!
