I was thinking of making my second IG Army be a Luna from MiP: FiM themed one, and was wondering if this would make many other Warhammer fans angry.
IE: Tanks and troops have void-space camo, flags have moons or the symbols of night or the moon on them.
I thought it would be a nice idea, considering I was told it was creative of me to paint my first regiment with Volcanic camo, and I like thinking outside the box when it comes to writing and painting for my regiments.
Oh, and the name for the regiment would be, Luna's Legion, I know a bit to Space Mariney but it works.
Thank you for any input and advice, just trying not to step on peoples toes.

You have to have a model of Nightmare moon as your HQ, otherwise its not cool enough by about 20%.

Actually, I thought I might have Luna dressed as a Lord General, with Twilight Sparkle as a sanctioned Psyker attached.

... I suppose I'll be the first then.
I hate this idea. Why? Ponies, that's why.
Sounds immature, yes, but when you surf the net a lot like I do and encounter Ponies everywhere you get very very VERY tired and upset about it, should you not like them. And I don't quite frankly - the adverts as a child drove me mad and having a revamped cartoon will not change my opinion.
I won't lie though - the idea sounded alright until the name got mentioned - kinda threw me off the idea. Space/Galaxy theme? Awesome. Pony names and additional themes? Not awesome.
But, it is your army, so do as you wish

I don't think most people will even notice it's Pony-themed unless your Guardsmen have cutiemarks on them, and even then they have to be pretty obvious or people will just think they're typical army insignia.
Void-space camo and a lunar theme sounds cool. Go for it. If whoever you're playing with happens to be into My Little Pony, let them in on it.

My whole idea on the matter is trying to find a balance.
Oh and yes my friend mentioned to me that Luna is the name of Holy Terra's moon, so I guess Luna's Legion could be a fluff worthy name.

Tha'ts actually a fair point, so in a sense you can dodge the whole Pony reference if you wanted to anyway.
I like that actually. But, as I said - your army, your choice. Do what pleases you.

Okay, for the idiots who are ill-informed (myself included), where did the big hit of MLP come in from? Seriously, it was a little girls cartoon when I was in my teens, I think-never really paid it much attention. But I've seen it in plenty of warhammer demotivational posters and around the 'net. Is it a meme? Or is it actually popular (God forbid)? I have no clue as to the point of it, so somebody...help me understand why something like MLP is what it is.

It's a very popular show, because of it's animation quality, and it's timeless humor, Iv watched it and enjoyed it.
Dedicated watchers of the show are referred to as "Bronys". You can find many cross overs into the 40k Universe in fan-art.
This being a good example.

I'm doing the same. But with an empire army.
Honestly. Why should they care? if you are playing an army you painted and worked and they are immature to not play against your army becaue it is themed around something they dont like then dont play.
But i will say this. the army will outlast the show. so think of that. and you would have to explain MLP to people in the real world.
