Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Its a 40k site, so I suspect there are quite a few.

Iron Maiden fan myself, with the occasional Guns n' Roses but not of most metal.

IMHO most metal sucks.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Especially the ones i have met personally and talked with.

I am disliking the dislike for newer metal. It's all damn metal.

Although I can understand the dislike for the two bands you posted.

I love me metal but willing to listen to other music types as well. Lately can't stop listening to Trivium's In Waves album and Turisas' Stand Up and Fight album.

Metal fan here, I don't like just one type of metal, I can go from listening to Maiden, to old metallica, to hatebreed, to bomb threat and mace.

I personaly like old metallica ( anything up to justice for all sighs RIP cliff) megadeth, sucuidal tendencies and just about anything inbetween.

Special shout out for sepultura, damn I love those guys. Power metal, speed metal, thrash, it's all good =o]

Big metal fan over here. I don't generally stick with a particular genre of metal I kind of just listen to whatever bands I like. I listen to bands like Disturbed, S.O.A.D, Rammstein, GWAR, Metallica, and Iced Earth.

I do however listen to other music, stuff like DnB and other electronic music.

When it comes to metal, which is 95% of what I listen to, there is only one procedure that will do for determining its worth.

LISTEN!!!

Forget about all the labels and the posers and hipsters and just listen to what you like. That's what I do. Of course, many of my friends are put off by most of my choices, but I also don't like some of theirs. Go figure.

I love music. Most would call me a metalhead, as it's what I listen to most, but I like and listen to just about everything. My preferences are rock and metal, but the amount of people who looked through my CD wallet and almost had heart attacks... LOL Black sabbath beside beethoven, Motzart and Metallica together. The only musics I don't respect and/or listen to are the ones that have no passion. Are written by (not neccisairly on) computers/the guys in marketing. Also, don't prove my mother right. If a 20 year veteran of the metal scene can't understand you when you sing... I'm not going to listen to it. What I hate musicially is most modern pop (Crap put out with no meaning, no skill and mostly autotuned to the wazoo) Rap/hiphop... see above. Old rap I have some respect for. Rap should be poetry. And I hear none nowadays. Much of the techno/electronica music I'm on the fence about. If it makes me feel something other than a headache, ( ) then I can handle it. If it's just something to listen to when high as a kite... give me some 'o the good stuff and play it again, but I'd still rather listen to Pink Floyd then...
I love old metallica, Iced earth, Demons and Wizards, Five finger death punch, disturbed and many more. Really getting into Van Canto lately and back into Blind guardian.
Sorry for the wall of text, but music is something I'm very passionate about

GWAR, how the hell could I forget them?!!???

I remember seeing them live on Muchmusic, they where in full costume holding huge styrofoam co**s in their hands talking about how there are the co**s that are going to save the universe and to come out and support them at their show in town. I knew from that moment on my goal in life was to see a live GWAR show and possibley get into the 'slave pit'. Then they played the Sadam-a-go-go video =o]

I like any music that requires more than a click track and auto tune to produce.

I have a preference for old metal and classical.

To be fair there is SOME music that is as he described, mostly confined to dodgy youtube singers though.
