I was always curious if one could commission out assembling models to a small business on the internet?

Do they exist?

I dont think anyone runs just an assembly service, but I'm sure plenty of people would be willing to do it (seriously... paying me to build models? Where do I sign up?)

I traded models to someone I know to build/convert my first land raider, and then I painted it myself. I expect that at least some of the commission services would do this.

Bluetablepainting has done assembly for me before, but it also included conversions and magnetizations. So you may want to inquire.

Yeah, there are plenty of people out there who build conversions on commission. Bog-standard assembly might be a little less common, as it's pretty tedious work... but it wouldn't surprise me if someone out there was doing it.

I don't want them assembled, but I would love to pay someone to scrap off all the mould lines...that is the single most hated part of this hobby for me!

I have difficulty believing that someone would be willing to perform a task like scraping off mold lines and not assembling anything, for less than a king's ransom, unless they worked in a sweatshop.

I can only second that http://www.bluetablepainting.com/ sounds just perfect for what you want. They will do assembly only if that is what you want.

Blue Table Painting isn't some lonely dude in a garage painting minis, it's a professional company with 16 full time employees doing nothing but assembling and painting. As of right now they have 4 full time assemblers. Of course assembling is just a small part of it. They do a lot of conversions, magnetization and other stuff.

You should check out the gallery on their (soon to be updated) website, but also check out the Youtube channel. It has a lot of their stuff on it, but also batreps, random updates and just general entertainment value.

For an example, check out this converted Plague Censor (also featured in one of the videos):

Cheers, and hope it helps.

I'd happily do that, for an appropriate price. £1/model would be fair for something that can be done at home while watching TV.

+1. Scraping mold lines isn't that bad.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

Blue Table Painting, I think.

IIRC you just order the models off of them and they'll ship them in, assemble them, and send them out to you.

Makes sense since they buy all their stuff in bulk like a store would.

I own Lazuli Painting, I have never seen someone ask to just have their models assembled, normally only with painting, but I'm sure any commission painting service would do this.
