Hello everyone,
I have been working on a World Eaters army for a little while now. After a long break from doing it I am now getting heavily back into painting and modeling. So here is a log that I have thus far, with plenty more to come!
First off my land Raider "Skull Crusher"
The Back Exhaust
I had added the Forge World Extra Armor kit, but as with most FW items it didn't fit correctly. A "few" clamps fixed that though!
Here is one side of the land Raider
Heavy Bolters
FW front armor upgrades, I added some icons to them
The Assault Ramp of Doom!
The Top

First was a mock-up to see how he would fit together.
Then started basecoats
Added arms and basing
Final product complete with blood and gore

For the rest of my raptor squads troops I used the chaos space marine skull helmets. These were airbrushed using Vallejo Air Colors.
I then assembled the legs and torsos and began painting. Base coats were done with the airbrush then I picked out details with a regular brush. After I put models together final highlights are done.
Three finished raptors
Three awaiting blood
And a finished close up

Being a primarily close combat army, I decided I needed a little bit of a long range option. In fitting with the fluff I decided to make a squad of The Sanctified. Not only would these guys have bolters, be able to assault in combat fairly well with a mark of Khorne but also summon daemons as that is what they do in the Imperial Armor books.
I first assembled them on some cheap bases I got off of eBay but then later moved them to the Secret Weapons Bone Fields bases (which are pretty bad ass)
After final assembly I primed with Duplicolor rust auto primer, then used Vallejo hull red for shadows
After shadows were on I went over the lighter areas with Vallejo fire red and a final highlight of Italian red. All from the Vallejo Model Air range
I used the same method with the heads as i did with the bodies, except the horns were airbrushed with a base of scorched brown, followed by VMA light brown and then VMA white.
After a gloss coat, I used Mig brown wash oil paint thinned with white spirits to wash the horns. I then cleaned them up with straight white spirits using a mascara makeup brush
First on the list was the aspiring champion. I had made a custom combi melta bolter with a meltagun tip, moved the bolter muzzle down and added a melta bomb to the side. He is also sporting the old chaos mutation arm proxied as a power fist. The shoulder is from the chaos terminator sprue, there is also an extra skull on his power pack.
I attached the head and attempted a glowing eye effect but was not happy with it.
I then added blood and gore, here is the final product.
After the champion was done I moved on to complete one trooper to see how the rest would flow. I figured out a new recipe for the bases blood pool. Using water effects mixed with red and sepia ink, I think the effect turned out pretty good.
Now I just have the final six to finish, I am currently at this stage in the process.
Got some more work done last night on the Sanctified Troopers. All thats left are heads, flames on their shoulders, brass highlights, script on their summoning scrolls, varnish and blood pools for their bases.

Excellent paintjobs TwinLinked! Really nice work done on these minis, especially the aspiring champ:
Maybe it's just me, but looking at the angles of the guy's arm and head, and the facial expression the helmet creates, it looks like the chap is somewhat suprised at the fact that his arm is a horribly mutated and blood-soaked claw...
And that is why you hear people yelling FOR THE EMPEROR rather than FOR LOGICAL AND QUANTIFIABLE BASED DECISIONS FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE MAJORITY!

Interesting observation, I like to think he's more in admiration of his newly given daemonic gift. Thank you Lord Khorne (our one true lord and savior) for this most massive and uncomfortable arm you have bestowed unto me. Hopefully he wipes with his left... know what I'm saying?
Some progress on the sanctified troops. Finished the heads and glued them on, just have some weathering left and the blood pools for their bases to do.

Started working on my World Eater Terminators. I wanted to attempt the crystal effect on their power axes, not quite what I was looking for but acceptable non the less.
I will paint the brass on the head, they need some touch ups as well.
Also got some base colors on a couple terminators. Still very much WIP
Wow! I'm sorry I'm just now finding this! I'm also sorry that it seems to have generated almost no responses from Dakkanaughts (please accept my apology on behalf of us all )
I especially like the way you've separated out the different chaos helmets to distinguish your different units. Works great! Excellent work on the power axes as well! Great spot colors to add to the sea of red
Keep up the great work!
