Hi All,

Wondering if anybody knew if the Eldar were going to receive a facelift any time in the near future? The grav tanks look like the same ones from when I was 15, same with most of the other models. When was the last time they got a face lift? The dark eldar's face lift looks amazing!

Thanks for any info.

Well, having no idea what age you are now, it's very possible they ARE the same models as when you were 15.
Depending on what rumors you believe, they could be half a year away to a year and a half away. The grav tanks are still pretty cool looking though (minus the pilots). Isn't the new fire prism/night spinner a new grav tank body though? Or is it only the top gun-part that is new? I'm not sure, honestly.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Doubt that they'll be getting the facelift you so wish for. Certainly some of their kits will, but not the vehicles. The new Fire Prism/Nightspinner kit is based on the existing chassis, so thats here to stay. Realize that the Dark Eldar had an older (from what I understand) model range than the Eldar, and have long been regarded as the worst miniatures line that GW produced. Eldar dont have that problem, and I dont think we can really expect any of their (40k) mini lines to be getting that same treatment anytime soon.

The Eldar chassis are going nowhere. They won't get an uplift like the Dark Eldar, because the current Eldar doesn't look like pure gak (the DE did before). Eldar models look really good (in my opinion at least).

I expect Wraithguard, Warp Spiders, Guardian Jetbikes, Swooping Hawks and Shining Spears will get new models. Eldar will also get new units (of course). I hope Harlequins will be remade in plastic, but that's unlikely.

I would murder for this to happen, or at least have some new/variant sculpts.

1.) First rumours seem to indicate an Eldar release 2013.
2.) The Eldar tank is fine, esp. when you use the new Fire prism and the FW conversion parts. The jetbike is really old and will be updated.

I would maim an entire orphanage to get new plastic harlequins and wraithguard, and it would be worth it.

In the meantime, I'd also love to find some sites that do conversion kits or something for Eldar.

They did bring out the new night-spinner tank in the not-too-distant past, the rules for which were only in (as far as I know) one White Dwarf article. But don't talk about tanks. What about jetbikes? The pilots on those jetbikes are what guardians used to look like. I've been with this since the very end of second edition and they have not changed since then.

This prototype was done 2007 by Jes Goodwin. Since then a slightly modified version was released for Dark Eldar, expect a new jetbike when a new Codex is released:

You are definitely in the minority on that one. Finecast on an individual model is bad enough, but ALL aspect warriors are finecast, right? That's a massive "feth you" to the eldar right there.

I reckon they will skimp on aspect warrior models and just make them finecast lol.

Would love some plastic wraithguard with a new release and maybe I would get round to doing a wraith list like I have wanted to for ages now.

well I'm 24 now, so thats 9 years ago. Hah, wow time passed. Seems like just the other day I bought those models.

Have they updated at least the size of the sculpts since then? I'm looking at my metal warp spiders, and they are smaller than an Ork Boy, and my guardians chest is the size of an Ork head.

It would be nice if they were slightly bigger if anything.

Very funny... not.

I really like the look of the prototype. It's got the same shape as the old version, but sleeker and has a more "modern" look.
I have to agree with Joey that all finecast aspect warriors is painful. I remember the days when six metal aspect warriors were 18£, sigh.

Really? After getting some FC banshees and fire dragons, I've gone on the hunt for the metal aspects to round out my army on ebay. I appreciate the lightness and ease of assembly that FC brings, but I'd really rather have an intact model.

When it comes to Finecast VS metal I prefer, I prefer if it weighs like it looks. Tyrant Guard look like chunky heavy s. Whereas Eldar look light and brittle and therefore I prefer them in Finecast.

The Finecast models are the same from when I was 15, lol. At least the tanks are somewhat newer than that.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

The difference here is that I have bought many a finecast product, and I haven't had a single major flaw.

If Sweden has a national lottery you should play because you are an extremely lucky man.

You can do a lot of things with the Eldar tanks with just a bit of conversion as Forgeworld has shown us. The Warp Hunter in particular shows that the only part that's really showing age on the tank chassi is the turret itself.

Tell me about it. Bought a Harlequin Troupe this weekend and out of 5 models only one had all it's parts without defects. One leg in particular was missing the entire left shin and a large portion of the right foot.

Well, we do, but it's a zero-risk lottery where you get your money back in worst case scenario (albeit 5 years later).

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

The lottery company being the Swedish government in this case
It's more of a loan with the chance of really good interest. I *think* the proper term is government bond, though.
