My fluff (or what I have done so far, I'm a bit behind my intended schedule...) is here http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/1st_%C3%89adrom_Talamh%2C_the_%E2%80%98Floating_Bees%E2%80%99

The title is actually not quite right, I've corrected it in the rest of the article, I just don't know how to change the title...

Its primarily airborne army with forward observers and scouts, and a slight armoured contingent from the lowlands of the planet, but if I could take more airborne instead (without having to freaking squadron) then I would

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Oh wow! Awesome! Would love to have more fluff on them. I'd especially like to know about the mad planetary governor and how he pulled off the green carpet affect on the whole planet.

On the traitor guard I've read about them and that's what made me make this post lol. Awesome fluff i might add. And very nicely painted to.

I had a traitor IG army that never got off the ground. colour scheme was red and black (red cloth with black detailing and armour scraps) the look was going to be as if they had scavenged everything (squad leaders would get Cadian armour, but heavily damaged, while normal sqauddies would get stuff like random metal plating, thick leather scraps or something else cobbled together)

Unfortunately it seems i no longer have the fluff, but basic idea :

They were from a hive world that Largely abandoned by the imperium, and then it was laid siege to by Red corsairs, One of Horun's generals delivered the IG regiment an Ultimatum, Turn to chaos and help destroy the world, or be destroyed with it. Cue civil war, with the chaos side winning. Once they helped destroy the world, they were abandoned by the Red Corsairs, leading them to start travilling the universe and assulting planets to gain equipment. All thier equipment is salvaged from battlefields, and generally follow the path of chaos or other attacks, favouring the weakend enemy after the attacks. They named themselves "The Forgotten" to symbolise how they were abandoned by every force they expected to protect them or they expected to serve. So they had run down equipment, assualt weakend worlds (avoiding space marines all together) and salvage all their equipment.

Thanks!

I was gonna build this army with pig iron heads, basing the models on a mix of empire flagellents, Catachans and Green stuff. The commisars were gonna be similar to the forge world Enforcers, while all the tanks were gonna be run down, ork-like versions of the main IG codex.

edit: The idea fell through when i realised i was trying to do too many things at one time with my warhammer

The Shadowsreachian Iron Corps: 1st Shadowsreach Armored "The Ironbreakers"

Readers Digest Condensed Version:
Hailing from the industrialized volcanic mining moon of Shadowsreach, the 1st Shadowsreach Armored has earned a glorious reputation as a hardened and skilled regiment during the Veiled Worlds Crusade in Segmentum Ultima. The regiment was founded as an armored regiment due to the relatively small population of Shadowsreach and the massive war forges the planet processes. The regiment consists of several full armored companies, a single artillery company, two mechanized companies and a single heavy tank company with two baneblades (A gift from the Adeptus Mehcnaicus after the liberation of Renkus IX).

My IG army has the Penal Legion style fluff. Basicly, this is their suicide mission. Take this out, survive, and you have been given grace to fight another day, or, just go rest in the foam tray. No Command Squad, just Commissars. No Valks/Vendettas, these guys don't deserve such luxury. Even the tanks are crewed by nasty individuals.

My main army for IG now runs the following:

Commissar Yarrick w/ chimera
Ogryn squad (5), w/ yarrick

Lord Commissar w/ carapace, power weapon, in a Chimera
Ogryn Squad (5) w/ the LC

4 penal legion squads
2 melta vet squads w/ demo charges in chimeras

The heavy support varies from time to time depending on points. I have 8 LR to work with and Hydras. Sentinels find there way in there sometimes too.

Not the typical list for IG, just fun to play. The stubborn ability realy is fun and most people are not use to IG not running away. I am not stating this is the best list out there, just my fun casual list.

To model the PLS, I have used empire flagalants and Catachan arms. Looks good on them.

javascript:emoticon(''); 3,000 pointsjavascript:emoticon('');

2,000 points

265 point detachment

Imperial Knight detachment: 375

Iron Hands: 1,850

My IG army is a Schola Progenium training force, you can read about my idea here:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/382105.page

The tl;dr version is Commissars, Commissars Everywhere!

Each sergeant model is instead a Cadet Commissar. Veterans are Cadet Commissars. Then there are actual Commissars that keep watch over the Cadets. To top of the hierarchy we have a Lord Commissar. For 1500 points, I add in Straken who acts as a counts-as Chaplain to enforce the Imperial Cult.

In short, this is definitely one army that is more afraid of their officers than the enemy! hahaha

I don't have any pics but I will upload some when I get back from college

Schrott

My IG are rather odd.

the 91st Schrott Experimental are from a planet that used to be a massive vault for the Ad Mech of a nearby forgeworld as well as forgeworlds all over the Imperium. this vault held prototypes and experimental machines that had been either discarded or abandoned amoung other things. Eventually a massive war raged over Schrott that lasted for several hundred years with nearly all factions (minus necrons and Tyrinids) landing uncountable numbers of troops and equipment. At the end the Imperium won but the entire planet was covering in hundreds of meters of the remnants of war machines, equpiment and more.

The citizens of Schrott learned to utalize the scrap metal and debris to create everything from homes to transportation (in a Road Warrior/Fallout/Twisted Metal style wreck-tech) with help from the local Ad Mech who remained on Schrott. When a Regiment was requested the only thing the people could use to supply their regiment with was salvaged equipment and tanks from their surroundings. This lead to many old prototypes being reactivated or mounted to existing designs (like the Sonic Cannon Leman Russ amoung others.) hence their name 'Experimental".

Vehicale heavy, with a decent amount of infantry for its size.
every tank has some sort of modification on it that makes it unique from others. i think the least modified tank is one of my HellHounds.

I didnt like how my regiment was combined arms, so i decided it was an Imperial division made up of 4 seperate regiments. The 12th Pheltorian Rifles Regiment are the foot troops of the division, pretty much the backbone since theyre there to hold the line, they are painted based on ww2 american GIs. The 22nd Asterlant Regiment are the mechinized elements, they advance with the armor and take objectives long enough for the foot to secure it, and they form the mobile reserves. They are light grey fatiques with black armor, and red icons. The armor is supplied by the 139th Marcone Armored Regiment. They have the Leman Russes, the armored sentinels and the hellhounds and its varients. Theyre dark green in color. Then the 2nd Nemoisian Artillery provide the Manticores, bassies and the other artillery tanks. They are a woodland camo scheme. To round out the list i have the 5357th Naval Gunship Squadron. They have the Vendettas. Theyre painted a Green on top to match the landscape and a light grey on bottom to match the sky.

Proud to be Obliviously Blue since 2011!

Chaplains (used as ministorum priests or together as a psyker battle squad) (9 chaplains)

Men-At-Arms blocks (w/ commissar and priest) 120 troops

The Emperor's hand (Death Strike) 1 of these

Standard Battle Tank (which kinda looks like The mad Tanker's) 6 of these

Chimeras 6 of these

Storm Troopers

Rough Riders (best picture of them)

Sentinels

Close up of troops (they are mostly based and finished now.)

My guys are the 51st foot,im still working on them and the fluff isnt all written but the jist is that they come froma fringe worl often cut off by storms, so they lack acces to alot of the heavy armour and standard imperial vehicles. Occaisional imperial troops and vessels arrive and are incorporated into the regiments as auxilliaries (helping to explain the ongoing presence of regular gw ig amongst my victric for now)

My IG are company B of the 37th Praetorian Regiment, "The Emperor's Orphans."

As the center of it's own empire of systems, Praetor raise some of the best garrison and occpuation regiments in the Imperium. The 37th is trained in raising local forces, counter insurgency, and are a highly adaptive formation. They performed well on Yasmeen, a desert world that had recently been retaken for the Emperor. Within a few years remaining resistance was wiped out, and the local PDF could hold the system. Unfortunately for Company B, a clerical error led to them being left behind when the rest of the regiment moved onto a new planet.

Under the command of Captain Karyth Teel, Co. B has two aims: get closer to home, and fight for the Emperor. As a veteran and flexible force, they have earned warp passage in exchange for all manner of military duties. While originally trained to fight as light infantry supported by heavy armor, the company has recruited men and acquired equitment that allows them to field anything from an armored company to an air assault section. Far outgrowing it's modest initial compliment, it is more closely a battalion in it's own right, with a solid infantry company, an armored company, a Sentinel company, and a powerful mechanized platoon.

The current infantry complement:

A typical strike force:

Mine is the 197th Bataviran: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/331115.page

Basicly the third company of that regiment. Due to intense fighting on several planets, they were left with some thousand-odd veterans.
They are largely known for their large infantry formations, which are good in the offense, but excell in the defense. Desperate last-stands, holding out against all odds, these soldiers have survived more times than they have should.
One of the possible explenations of their skill in survival, is because they often recruit some of the locals of this planet, which can help them in their defence. (And this partly explains the differences in the uniforms.)
These locals are then introduced to the regular ranks of the 197th Bataviran givin them some much needed fresh blood.

Overall Record W-L-D = 22-24-15

I play with companies and battalions of the Foleran Off-World Army. The planet itself is an uneasy confederacy of principalities lead by hereditary warlords. At any time, one of them will tenuously hold the position of King of Folera, who, after his ascension to the throne is post-facto made imperial governor of the planet. The different petty warlords are tithed indirectly by the imperium, and generally tithe as many men as can be found, preferring to hold onto land, munitions, and other valuables to support their campaigns for planetary domination.

As such, the Foleran First Army is a group of soldiers that makes do with chronic shortages of everything but manpower, overseen by a bureaucracy that exists to limit costs, not to support the troops. Probably the most obvious example of this is their uniforms. Rather than having a set of fatigues, and a dress uniform, they have a single set of regulation clothing that does both - a pressed white fieldblouse with camo pants.

Periodically, a new king will attempt a break from the imperium from its semi-autonomous state to a fully autonomous one. During these periods, the imperium will dallop an extra dose of imperial advisors (such as commissars), to ensure that the Foleran army fights to the most of its capabilities.

My army, the Valian Second, is formed from what's left of every other regiment from Vaila. Every single regiment was wiped out by a massive ork WAAAAAAAGH invading their home world so the Administratum just jammed the survivors together into one group, and sent them off to other planets. Other regiments have since been founded, but the Second is formed completely out of veterans from any conflict they might take part in. Casualty rates are surprisingly high, and so are in constant need of relatively new recruits. They're commonly referred to as "The Survivors"
