Is there a set date for 6th ed yet or at least a projected date.

and when will GW acknowledge that it is coming out. I still see the assault on black reach up for sale when will that come down.

I dont think there is a set date.

They might say its coming out a week or two prior? Maybe a month?

OP I beleive, going by rumour and past experience, it will be June/July this year. They tend to do it before the summer holidays so they can get the kids hooked.

June or July for rulebook, two months later starter box with Dark Angels vs. Chaos. That's current rumour. GW will deny everything until preorder.

Its backed by two people who are rarely wrong on Warseer, and ties into a nearly twelve year release schedule.

I'd bet a lot, if any bookies would believe GW's 'its not happening' posturing, and give me some odds that it was coming out this year with no hint of its release currently on the cards.

Hell if I could extend those odds by targetting July, I'd bet a fair bit on that as well.

I heard August 11th, but that's probably wrong.

The only rumours Ive heard It's that is csm and sm and in summer next year. I was told this by a gw guy but he said it was only rumour.

I believe that the 11th of August was just 145 days after the 145 teaser trailer (IIRC) which is for the new paint range.

Urgh. We've still got armies that are running the 4ed codexes still, and they're already pushing out the 6ed BRB?

I don't think it'll happen until all of the codexes are up to current, at the very least. At least, I hope not, anyway.

To be honest, I think that they'll skip an edition with the currently out of date codexes, and update them when 6th comes out. After all, if the release of new codexes coincides with 6th edition, they're going to be getting more of a profit, because people will go "Ooh, look, new modeelllssssss...OH! And a new rulebook! How kind!"

I trust Harry and Hastings more than any GW representative. Ghost21 was always a less reliable rumour poster, but that doesn't mean all his statements were false or all rumour posters are fakes.

True, but I believe that counting forward that number of days reachs the 11th and this could have been where it came from. One of the younger players that I know got rather excited and didn't watch all of the way to the end, assuming that 145 was the countdown to sixth ed. And that may have been the cause of that.

I hope 6th edition has a date, it would be really embarrassing to show up to prom without one.

I love the idea of having chaos as a box set, even though I wouldn't use them, it would be something different!

I would put my money on July 14th as a release date.

Rulebooks are released in July most of the time, so 7th July is the most likely date.

Aye I'm with Kroothawk on this one, folks are grabbing onto that weekend thing in the calender as it equals the potential release date.

Although to me it would seem strange to do a weekend battle type thing, when they'd want to be concentrating on sales and the like on release day. If all things go to plan it should be a very busy day for GW stores.
Plus it goes against what they've been doing since they changed the White Dwarf release day/Pre order for new items.

Doing a Weekend battle thingy the following week after the release however would make a lot of sense.

July 7th or 14th seems most likely to me. A while back, there was a mysterious document floating around with brainstorming ideas for the 6th edition launch. There is now also a schedule from Warhammer World which lists an event called "Cataclysm" on the 14th, which may lead some credence to the idea.

I'm thinking 21st or 14th.

Hopefully, GW will give us more than 2 weeks notice before 6th edition.

This is still one of my biggest interest/concerns regarding 6th actually.

Are they seriously going to give us one weeks notice on collectors/Limited edition books and packs?

How long have you known GW? They tend to do this....a lot (Hello Dark Eldar......)

Anyways current rumor points to summer. I think the Dark Angel starter paint set may be a good indicator that everyone who was saying DA were in the starter were right, which may mean the chaos rumors are also right, which also means that the summer release is most probable time area

Rulewise I have no idea if its going to be Pancake Edition or 5.2, you never know

Either way, I will be waiting until the AOBR style rule books that (I hope) will be released in the starter boxes start flooding ebay before I get the new rules, if at all. I plan that to be my only upcoming GW purchase for 6th edition (well, unless they update the CSM/BA codex as well...).
