PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING:
So here is everything I have after about 2 years of painting. Let me first say that I am slowly building 3 armies: Orks, Space Marines, and Chaos. I am painting 3 armies because of the variety and my first love of the hobby being painting. That being said, I am conscious of building an army worth its weight on the table top too. I'd like to get some feedback about what you might add or subtract to these armies. Now, OBVIOUSLY I am not finished and plan to add to what I already have here. I'll state what my plans are above the pic. I would like to get your opinion on where to go with these armies and what might help them survive on the table. AGAIN, I usually paint certain figures because they are cool to paint but I am trying to build up a worthy army too. Im looking to get each army ready to play at or around 500-900 points each.

Orks
I plan to include another Killa Kan and perhaps a mega dread. The Ork hoard will also include eventually 10 choppa boys, 10 shoota boys and 5 Nobs, 5 stormboys and finally a Trukk






Chaos
World Eaters with around (5-10) bezerkers, another force of Black Legion SM (5-10) and Possessed troops (5). Plague SM (5). Also thinking about the Decimator demon engine from FW.










Space Marine
I'm thinking several combined forces because I like the variety of colors. Blood angels (5), Ultramarines (5-10) and a devastator squad of Imperial Fist (5-10). In addition I'm thinking 2 dreads (one ultra one Blood angel), and the Rhino. I probably need some assault troops don't I?

Astounding - simply some of the best painted models I have seen - excellent work

The only critique I can off on those great models is that your yellow looks shallow compared to the rest of your colors, some more shading would help. Also, the goblin green base rims are very retro, but don't fit many of the bases they are used on.

How to make them perform on the table is more a matter to be addressed in the 40k section, as many folks hare are known for their painting more than being tacticians; and a few don't even play 40k. I don't think your going to get a straight answer for 2-3 months until 6th edition has settled in a little though.

All look amazing, the Orks especially. I tried painting some and its harder than it looks to get their particular king of wear and tear to look pro.

You have no problem achieving this. I am going to redouble my efforts in Ork painting. Inspirational job to say the least.

The OSL on the tank is also bad@ss.

This may have been a better post for the Army 40k section but I wanted to showcase the hard work.
I think I may add another Trukk to the orks, but what about bikes or choppers?

Of all I think your Orcs are the shiznit! I'd focus on them. Your attention to detail brings out their animation and expressions...where as marines are marines. Helmets all look basically the same and their faces are always yelling or constipated.

Double down on them Orcs. If you don't want to do boys then add nobs/MAnobs or run a fun fluffy army that eats up points inefficiently. There's always stormboyz, bikes, lootas and such.

I think by far the orks are most impressive, I'm loving that bright blue across the board! I think in general playing what you enjoy, what models you like, is a big part of it. Definitely use the army lists forum to get some ideas of where to grow, the models you already have finished can be incorporated into a variety of effective lists, it depends on what sounds fun and what models you like.
