I recently started a new Dark Eldar army, and have my first lot of models totally completed to my satisfaction. The Raider has a few tiny bits of highlighting and its crew to add, and maybe some marks on the sail.

I greatly appreciate all comments and critisisms, as the only way to get better is to learn your flaws!

And the almost finished Sybarite, you can see the egg shells used for basing before paint!

Thanks for the replies everyone, the orange edging is actually 3 colours and very time consuming, especially on the raider!

They look so evil. A very nice and well thought out color theme. They look like they could be the bad guys in a sci fi movie

Beautiful orange-yellow edge, love it!
Also, I really like how good those eggshells look when painted.

Loving the effect from the orange. Kinda reminds me of Damned Legionaries.

A bit of an update with some new models, including my conversion of Duke Sliscus, again, all critisms welcomed!

First finished (minus gunner) venom

First 5 wyches

And, the duke! Not quite finished, want to re-do the cape and need to add some detail and poison to the swords, and also to tidy his face up a little.

Colours stand out amazingly and really do make the models look great.
Only have 1 suggestion.

Might be worth cleaning the lines up a bit on the vehicles as they seem a bit off in places.
You can hold a piece of paper along the edge and use that as a stencil to keep it 100% straight.
And by using paper it also follows the contours of the vehicle.

The main one that i can see the edging issues on is the venom.

Other than that though, bloody ace job on them

The colors are great, as has been said. But WOW those bases are good too. The Sliscus model is also fantastic.

That is an army to be proud of.

It's spelled "cavalry." NOT "calvary."

Fantastic. I like them even more because my IG have a sort of similar paint scheme. Sortof.. yours are far better though because of your awesome job of blending the orange.

They look amazing.
One of my favourite Dark Eldar Schemes so far!
They are painted to such a high standard I can't Imagine them not standing out on the battlefield!

I really like the edging. The color choices in particular give an evil vibe that really works with your army.

On the vehicles, though, (especially the Venom) it seems like the edging is a little uneven. I know that's a by-product of freehanding it, but maybe painter's tape would help to make it a little more smooth. I wonder how it would look if the edging were seeping from the gaps in the vehicle's hull, rather than leaving that black line there in the middle. (I feel like that little gap needs to be even brighter than the edging, but that's just me.) Take my critique with a grain of salt, though, because I promise I can't do much better. This is great work, no doubt!

Thanks for the kind comments all, am definately agreeing with the suggestions about the vehicle edging. I'm starting a razorwing tonight hoping to take it to the LGS competition at the end of the month so am using tape on all the edging. I looks awesome as i can blend the oranges more....but damn is it time consuming!

Great colour scheme! Makes me think a bit of Tron with the black and high contrast orange, but still unique. I'd suggest trying a bit more blending on the orange highlight > black to smooth out the transition. In smaller scale, like the warrior's armour, it works beautifully, the rough edges are a bit more noticeable on long straight lines like the sides of the Raider.
