UPDATE!!!!!

a real proper updte on something new i have been working on. during my apoc game i had a little while ago i had all my dreads and kanz out on the field and just caught myself thinking "this is where it all began, and yet i have'nt made any new dreads in ages"

so i decided for 1 ,my old scratch built deff dread needed a serious update, and 2 that i wanted to make a new deff dread with KFF.

pictures below:

so he is going to be the "Big Un" in my dread mob, im giving him 2 skorcha's and a kff.
and the main aim with this guy is to try and show off a bit really.

anyway i will post pics with updates soon

thanks for the views

Right so back to the painting pots today, i have pretty much finished the battle wagon/ skullhammer.

can anyone see anything they think should be added or changed paint wise?
more pics below

(i really don't want to go back and change it model wise at this stage (even for wires, i could'nt find anything and i just got to a stage where i wanted this finished so i could move on))

so comments would be great and thanks for viewing

Looking good, but I'd consider adding rust, and maybe some blood on the defrolla?

and some random space marine progress
test scheme and a (almost) finished tac squad.

That Deff Dread looks great, it's Colossal! Although the way the terminator he is stepping on is posed it looks like he is a 2 year old child having a tantrum.

lol that was not the aim lol
but i can see what you are saying, i am thinking about bringing the sand on the base up a bit to cover the knees and legs of the termi more so it looks like its being pushed into the ground. i think this might solve the whole "tantrum" effect

small update on the dread, i make the Kff and a extra arm to go on him as well. i cant decide weather i want to mirror the small extra am on the other side or weather i just want to have the one.hmmm anyway i started work on the axe i want him to have and am currently trying to work out ways of getting the other wepons on there as well.

anyway thanks for looking and contructive crit would be great

HAZZER wrote:The deffa dead looks great but its a bit big!LOL. Ho about using it as a mega dread?

its not wide enough to be a mega dread, and i was thinking about that before but i think it would just be too cheeky to try and use it as a meka dread. still i rather like it as just a really big dread i think it works well.

ok so i did a little painting on some stuff.

so i added a skull to the grot bot, batte scars to the grot bot and the big mek, eyes to the grot bot and a touch up of the mud on the grot bots wheel. Then i painted some boyz.

just base colours and a green wash on the skin, but still progress is progress.

and then in the larger unit

Deff Dread looks great. There's not really anything to criticize, but here a few ideas to crank up the Orkiness if you like them:
- add some spikes to the left shoulder pad
- add a right should pad
- add some plasticard and rivets to make it look like the fence post is more attached to the top of the choppa
- add 2 big plastic teeth to the dreads 'jaw' on the sides of the Ork pilot's face.
- add plasticard horns (just my personal taste, I love horns)

I look forward to your progress, your scratchbuilds are always amazing.

I have to admit 2 things:
1. - I am ashamed to say this is the first time I have looked at your blog
2. - I was a little "verklempt" to see that I had inspired someone. I think if I were to die now in a fiery explosion due to the carelessness of a friend, that would be okay.

Your painting skills seem to have gotten much better since you started this army. Liking what I see. Keep up the good work, you plastic cutting maniac.

i like your style
i was going to add the other shoulder pad but i was going to have gunners, but then after you wrote this i liked it so spikes it is! as with the teeth i did'nt want to put too much on the jaw as i want the axe to cross infront of it and i did'nt want to complicate doing this anymore. as with the choppa, it was always going to have rivits as is the entire thing but i am liking the fence post idea so i will try it. And finally, im not going to add horns to this one, i just dont think it will work at this stage, maybe when i get other bits on it done i will come back and try horns on it.
and thanks

HAZZER wrote:Look great fish! However, those boyz are looking a bit light is there going to e darker washes added? Love to see more!

Are you making all your rivets out of Green stuff?
I use a 1mm hole punch and some cardboard or thin plasticard to make my rivets. I can't imagine making them all out of GS, although you have done very well, they all look very uniform.
