One more Dire Avenger Exarch, one more Dire Avenger, and four Howling Banshees.




The Dire Avengers were to give me up to five squads with Exarchs, and the Howling Banshees were to complete a squad of 10 and give me three new poses.

Each to their own ShadowsAndDust, I always thought that the weirdness of the model was what made it so different when I first saw it decades ago. Logically, like you said it makes no sense...but then again a lot of 40K makes no sense.

It reminds me of what you see Reilly use in Aliens to move cargo, and aliens around the space ship. It does look goofy to me too. Regardless a fantastic paint job on it CB.

This month's contest is going to be a real screamer.

Loving the blue/red color combo.

Excited to see these progress CB, I am super interested in different aspect colour schemes.

Those Banshees are coming along nicely, Cap'n - think I had a few of those back in t'day.

Great start to the Banshees and always love that you have set goals/numbers for a project. Must feel good to get the missing stuff and than being able to call the squads done.

Ah old school banshees.
When the whiff on the charge you can still attempt to charge your enemy with them

Yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo those are CLEAN. 10/10 the red and white with the blue blades are CLUTCH.

I'll second all of that, Cap'n. The red helmets with the yellow runes are quite eye-catching. The gems make for a great splash of color, too.

You've got a really nice group there, Cap'n - do you have the Exarch from that generation to add to the unit at some point?

Oh yes, what a great scheme this turned out to be. I’ll admit I wasn’t seeing it when you showed your banshees WIP but your vision was spot on, these are wonderful!

Awesome striped crests! Great round of Avengers, Cap'n.

Nice banshees and hawks brown.
They are still really nice models even after all the aging.

The ladies’ look great, the high contrast in their swords is cool. Lovely job on the Avengers especially the runes and stripes

Great group shot of those Banshees and sorry about the Dire Avengers switching slots. They look very snazzy nevertheless!

Striped crests look great, as is the highlighting on the armour, nice one!

Did up the four plastic Dire Avengers and an old metal Exarch for this months Dakka Painting Challenge Round 85: March 2022- Space Marines. I am painting Eldar in protest as I have not had a Space Marine to paint in many years.

A few of us are having some fun singing and painting non-Space Marine figures.

Except for being ever-so-slightly off scale, the old Exarch fits right in with the plastic Avengers. I imagine it would be unnoticeable on the table. They look great, Cap'n.

Here are the only five plastic infantry in my Eldar army all together in one shot. Made only because I received a load of damaged parts in a couple of lots I purchased to get metal Shining Spear bodies.




Sadly, with the move to the Elites slot I doubt my option of five squads at once is unlikely.
