Well, I couldn't resist ordering one off E-Bay for about $130. Getting the individual models (including Armigers) would be about $300 MSRP. Couldn't pass up that sort of a deal, even though I don't really need the rangers or most of the Necrons.

It never ends well

I am not making an excuse for GW. But right now, Necrons, Tau and the Armigers all seem very expensive which may be an indication of pending point increases overall in the march update.

Speaking of which, are we sure they didn't mean March 2019 at this point?

I hope they flood ebay and I can grab some for some terrain...

And hold on to the ones I plan on getting until the knights codex arrives and I can see what value they have in a knight list.

Necrons and Ad Mech have been two armies I've always kind of wanted. This is very very hard to keep myself from pulling the trigger given how much of a deal this is - i'm just worried about the long term ramifications of collecting two new armies

Is it worth buying?
I already have a few Cryptechs, 20 Immortals, and 5 Lychguard, and 15 Wraiths. No AdMech.

Could always build Praetorians or Deathmarks instead. The new Cryptek is nice.

Any word yet on the Power Level for the Armigers? Trying to work out how many I want.

I'll try to get the new Cryptek via eBay.
The remaining Necrons are not so interesting.

Well, consider me unimpressed at the cost of the Knights. Surprised? No, but definitely unimpressed.

i was firmly in the camp of 160-180 points for the double melta setup - but, then again i was using logic and unit comparison, rather than randomly pulling figures from thin air.

Definitely not going to pick up the set now, i'm afraid.

I am going to keep the arms off my knights for the time being. I am hoping for better weapons and pricing. Hopefully the codex itself will have better costs, because the current cost is crap. But, I guess I can run a squad of Vanguards instead of a squad of Rangers with Plasma Calivers and put two Meltagun Knights in.

I am actually looking forward to building a small force of Necrons. Maybe something usable in Kill Team. That Cryptek looks pretty rad. I can't decide if I will make Immortals or Deathmarks. Immortals would give me some basic Troops, so that is a bonus. I like the look of Lychguard over Praetorians. Though Praetorians with the Particle Caster and Voidblade look nice too. So I will have to do some thinking.

I'm less enthused the closer I we get to this dropping stateside. I've been meaning to expand my Necrons, and I want those Armigers, but I don't play AdMec and don't really like the AdMech Knight aesthetics. I'll probably go ahead and pick up the box and leave the non-Necron parts unassembled for now. Maybe we'll get an extra Imperial-aligned sprue in the stand-alone Armiger kit.

The base cost of each one is 223 - the 2 main weapons cost 0 points each in the Forgebane rules. As such, i doubt there will be much of a points change when the other versions are released (apart from the double combat weapon version)

So - this box plus a Start Collecting Necrons. Does that put you in a good place for a starter Necron army? What else would you want?

Especially now they're cheaper and putting out 150% of the shots with +1 Strength. Always been my favourite Necron unit, but hoo wee mama.

Do you know where to buy them? I think ebay only has used and miniaturemarket doesn't have them.

I believe they are only available on the official website nowadays, like the Flayed Ones.

Yeah, it'd be a smart bet to think that this isn't the final word on the Armiger points/stats - especially with a Knight Codex coming soon and the March FAQ around the corner.

As a necron player, I'll get the box, I need wraihts (i only have 3), Immortals (i have 10) and Lychguards (I don't have any). New cryptek looks great, maybe he will fly with destroyers.

I'm going to split the box with a friend but Ad Mech side takes my attention too. Now I'm looking for AM units, fluff, codex etc. I don't know too much about AM but it looks like AM will be my second army (I was waiting for Ta'u codex but AM changes my mind) After Forgebane I'm planning to buy AM Start collecting box. Any other suggestions for AM starter army? I like to buy small pieces each time, not whole army. Buy a box, paint them and buy another box. First Forgebane, next Start Col, next ...?

I really like this head. Just found out from my friend who preordered the box to split that he wants the knights. :(

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

While the Armiger is overpriced at 240 pts, one must remember that a regular Dreadnaught with fist, stormbolter and multimelta is 139 pts.

At 150-160 pts (I've seen many posts hoping the Armiger would end up at this cost) it would be absurdly underpriced.

Too be fair, basic Dreadnoughts are also overcosted.

But yeah even then, 150-160pts is probably too little. Somewhere between 180-210 would be the sweet spot.
