Subject: Ever a reason to take a LOC over fatewaever?

I'm slowly getting to grips with playing my 40k daemons, (usualy an IG player) and I have a nice LOC greater daemon model. The problem is that for the points cost I just can't see a reason to ever take him over fateweaver; once you upgrade the LOC a bit he's pretty much the same cost as fateweaver but without the extra goodies.
Is there any good tactical reason to use a LOC other than I like the model? What am I missing?
Thanks.

Well you get an all-round better statline and a LOC can't die with the first wound it takes, but that's all I can come up with really....

Uhm.... Only if you didn't build a list based around weaver would I ever think of a kos, but even then heralds of t and thirsters are better imo

I think I would take pretty much any other greater daemon or herald before I took a LoC.

In a fluke of game design they made Fateweaver just about strictly better than a Lord of Change. He occasionally flees the battlefield and has a slightly worse statline, but for the 5-10 extra points he costs over an equivalent Lord of Change there is no reason not to take him.

The only reason to take a LOC over Fateweaver is if you don't want to curb-stomp your opponent. A Fateweaver daemon army build is a very strong build and can absolutely crush your opponent if you know what you are doing. If you want to play less competitively (or rather, more casually), then go for a LOC or any of the other greater daemons.

Considering how much a LOC can cost once start giving it gifts, I've found fateweaver to be worth the extra price to get a buffed up LOC. Compared to the other HQ's, the ones I avoid are the khorne and nurgle heralds, and the LOC and GUO. I've heard people talk up the GUO, but just not my cup of tea
