Yeah, there's 4 of us that play it at my gaming group. We've just played through the original campaign book and we've now moved on to Kellars keep I think.
Still great fun.

No, but I've found that the D&D boardgames reignite the feel of the game! My copies are back in Ireland!

My friend recently dug up his copy. We've been playing it ever since. The minis are a really easy and fun paint as well.

Certainly do. Played a few games with the wife and she enjoyed it which is unusual for her when it comes to miniature games.

I still have my copy of the main game, Kellar's Keep, Return of the Lich (I think?), and the Barbarian and Elf adventure packs.

Unfortunately, all of the figures have been lost to time. (and my sister...)

I run it for the kids (pre-teen) and their friends on a Saturday evening a couple of times a month. We're about half way through the first quest book.

I picked up Warhammer Quest as its' eventual successor, though it's found a quick home with MY gaming group now.

Haven't in a while, but still have my freaking PILE of base sets that my mother found at garage sales years ago.

Once I consolidated it all and removed broken (unrepairable) stuff, I think I have five complete base sets, and at least one of all the expansions.

It may be a tad excessive...

I found a factory sealed copy at a garage sale for $5. I jumped on that like white on rice.

Haven't played my open one in a while, though.

7500pts. 1750pts. 1500pts. 2000pts. 11000pts.

I have been very interested in Hero Quest as my girlfriend and I want to start RPGing and I've been told Hero Quest is a good starter game for beginners. But I have found it very hard to get a second hand copy.

Are there any new board games which are easy to get hold of that have the same feel as Hero Quest?

I think Descent 2nd edition from FFG that has literally just come out in the US will best suit that role at the moment. It's slightly more like Advanded Heroquest/Warhammer Quest. In the sense you have tile sections for corridors and rooms.

However that is better in the long run as everytime you play it can different, and you can plan out your own maps without the restriction of a static board ala Heroquest.
You also have more heroes, eight in the box, a better range of monsters. Theres a Dragon in the box. Also on top of that it is very likely we will see expansions in the future, with new tiles, heroes and monsters.

I'm going to be picking one up, sadly Wayland won't be getting copies till August the 13th, and I suspect that will be a similar story for other UK based stores.

Games Lore managed to get some in but that was for pre-orders only, otherwise we be waiting till August 13th probably unless by random chance they come earlier had my copy
order back at the end of May with Maelstrom games.

I still have mine, box is a little worse for wear. But I rather prefer Warhammer Quest for its random monster encounter tables and random dungeon board every game. I have been collecting the equivalent Warhammer minis for years now, so when a monster encounter card is drawn, and the dice are rolled, I can pull out 3 night goblin fanatics, 2 Stone Trolls, 12 Skaven Clanrats, or whatever else the tables in the Roleplay Book have to offer. I also enjoy the 'between dungeon' traveling encounters, etc. I suddenly have the urge to bust it out of the closet and start up a new adventurer group...

Yep! Still love it. I got the kids playing it too. Google it and you can get all the quest books. Miniatures can be substituted with just about anything from any range.

Cool game. I really want to build a board for it instead of using the board from the game.
