Yep. For funzies and reference I like it. Tournament play where you're at the whim of cell towers and being DQ'ed? Not so much.

You know that having internet access is entirely unneccessary for everything on it to work, right? That, and it works over wifi.

If I could build lists without having to rebuy the card decks I already own I'd be up for it, but too bad. Last I heard it doesn't even have all the functionality that the free iBodger had.

You know that Wifi isn't always available right? You know that some devices eat batteries and there's not always power nearby to recharge right? You know that it drops for any reason or the device dies and you lose that round right? Like I said, for fun and reference sure.

Playing someone else who doesn't have it? Do you really want to hand over your $700 iPad or your phone for them to see your cards?

So true. If iBodger had an insert new model feature it would never go out of date.

I'll give it a try though.

Why wouldn't you have your normal cards? If you have the models you have to have the cards.

You're going to mark damage on Warroom and your cards?

No but I'd hand over my $50 crappy tablet that had 12-16 hours of battery life.

$6.99 PER faction deck? Which gets updated for the rest of MKII?

Awesome. Totally getting this. I miss iBodger, but this looks like it'll be just as good, with more features no less.

Again, the wifi features are not required to use the program. You can track damage and status conditions without being connected to the internet. As for battery issues, if you're going into a tournament with a device you know won't last the entire time, or without a fully charged battery, that's on you.

Not really. I prefer the Mark 1 paper card for tournaments. No technology to fail there. Greatest thing since sliced bread for you, great. Doesn't change the facts that there's several points of failure and it's heavily dependent on technology working right if you're going to use the program as designed.

To me.. id rather use my cards to mark damage rather then this app. To much room for failure if your device locks up in middle of a game and you lose all your marked damage.

What this app is good for.. is helping new players.

Playing against cryx ? Don't know all their casters and army very well yet ?

Punch in their army real quick so you can have fast real time access to their unit Cards without bugging your opponet.

This is why you visit the PP boards.

It's been delayed because it hasn't been approved by Apple and Amazon yet and they want a simultaneous release across all platforms.

Yep.

If I want to make armies on the fly, I'll use cards and the ability to do addition and subtraction with 2 digits.

If I want digital lists, I have word processors.

Malifaux has about the same thing, except it's free and checks legality.

Infinity has the vast majority of their info available for free.

WM/H will happily charge you $7/faction for the same info for their game.

Which ones will earn customer loyalty, and which will earn some extra cash?

@spiral

lets be fair, anything you word in that way sounds evil.

Of it's own merits, without the iBodger floofaloo, Warroom should be a good app. Every model in Prime MKII, Rules check on command, full graphics, game session creation, the ability to keep track of damage on the card, all at this point is FREE.

faction decks that update for $7.00 on my phone? Sign me up.

The biggest mistakes that PP had with Warroom was always that it HAD to take iBodger down and not integrating what Ibodger had into Warroom. Closing down a fan favorite will always leave a bad taste in the mouth. Warroom is not a replacement for iBodger and was not marketed as such but the two programs, even if right now they function in diffrent ways cant exist together if PP wants to protect its IP.

I'll be getting it should it, ever appear on the app store.

Id like to be able to keep looking at an opponents cards what ever they are.

I'm hoping for a game tracking damage you can do it on the one device for both sides.

Does anyone know how long it takes the apps to be published

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

I'm not sure, what part of my wording makes it "sound evil"?

I was just saying that other companies offer similar services for free, which will, based on my experiences, build customer loyalty and, by extension, are a better choice, in the long run.

Are they charging for the list creation service? I thought you only paid for the digital faction decks.

they added a list builder that ships with the core app, but I am not sure how it will work. The pay part is for the complete faction deck. The free app is supposed to have the base information close to what is available in the Mark II core rule books for warmahordes. I am more than a little ticked off that they did not at least do a closed beta by letting the Press Gangers use it for a month or so. I expect it will be well worth the investment and heck we are wargamers and not smell magic the gathering deadheads so we should be able to pinch some pennies to grab it.

They said yesterday that it's going to be delayed (again) because the developer had some issues with the file storage interfering with iCloud on the iOS version of the app. How long has this thing been delayed now?

Blame Apple, they tend to get upset when people launch on other platforms first. As such that's delaying the android release of it.

Even more amusing since War Room doesn't use iCloud services. Control freaks FTW.
