Texas!

Hello everyone,

Lazuli Miniatures Studios here with the most insane project we have ever received, 40k points of Necrons. Previously we had painted a 3,000 point Apocalypse army for the customer and he was so happy he had us to do another 40,000 points.

The Team

Head Artist: [So]Rice | -=Lazuli=-
Artists: elotsip, Kobayashi, tpistole
Trainee Artists: sivooo, Lynn, phanda, artie, Kameron, m3ndo, Mandrake

The models:

We started with the 6 Flying Saucers (sorry forgot what they are called!):

Since he wanted us to continue the black and silver theme, we cleverly did two color spray painting:

The assembled ships, 3AM

More to come later, thanks for looking!

That flyer looks....bland.

No cool glowing from its hull?

Do Necron vehicles ever actually show battle damage (living metal fixes that, doesn't it?)

It looks good and all that but why on earth does someone need 40K points worth of an army? When are they ever going to practically use all of that in a battle, let alone finish the battle in any given time frame!

Yes, but wear and tear always looks awesome. It could be damage happening at the moment, flying through flak or whatever. The only thing that could be missing is edge highlights but I guess that's expecting a bit much if you are intending to finish them quick (that appears to be the purpose)

Forty thousand points of 'Crons is awesome. But I'm afraid that colour scheme, unless it gets some Gauss glow added in, is way to basic. I'll be keeping an eye on this and hope that the colour scheme may become more exciting in time.

Yes, there will be decal and gauss effects on the weapons, but not the hull.

I am not sure, I don't play Wahammer There will be a little bit of glowing, not too much.

Yes, that is the goal, get them done fast

Apparently is has an opponent with a 40,000 Eldar Army ready to go. How or where they are going to play I don't know ^_^

Thanks for all the replies, the flyers are a bit boring with no weapons, but the other units will pop a bit more. And what is there all to paint... There are 6 Battleforces, a Necron Phalanx, 6 of the Flyers, 4 Walkers, 10 Spyders, 15 boxes of Tombguard (?), about 300 or 400 Necron Warriors, a ton of Finecast/Metal Characters and a lot more.

I don't know how someone could complete a 40000 point battle in under 24 hours. Good luck with all that painting.

Also, those Tombguard you mentioned, they are either Tomb Blades (small flying things) or Lychguard (Guys with Scythes/Sword & Shield)

Will be interested to see this come together.

Though I would have to echo the bland comments - was expecting at least a little bit of green or something in the runes.

I also would love to know why you have a hello kitty alarm clock

I can't say I'd like to have 40,000 points worth of an army, but I'd like to have the cash it took to buy 40,000 points worth of an army.

Anyway, I echo others in saying that it looks a tad "basic", but considering it's a commission for a huge amount of models I imagine quality is less important than speed at this point. Details can always be added later anyway.

So they can have a room dedicated to a painted Diorama of Necron versus Spess Mehrenes. Its fun collecting.

The paintjob is lacklustre and leaves alot to be desired. I don't quite understand why the client cheaped out on the paint job after paying for 40000 points of crons.

How much did that 40000 points cost?

I agree with the comments regarding paint scheme. More use of colors is a must, what good is an epic 40,000 pt army without an epic paint scheme?

On the other hand, if I were asked to paint 40k points of anything, I would need 2 lifetimes to finish them. I respect anyone who dares to attempt this colossal feat.
