To be honest I think the CC Cultists look awful especially the fact you get 2 of each identical model. The Dark Angel marines should have had the cloaks it's a must to me true Angels. I can already tell I'll need Green stuff for the helbrutes left melta you can see why on their site just look for the close up side of the melta.

Otherwise love the new models glad that they have both a Master and a Librarian in the pack they are great looking models, the Chaos chosen are ....they.....I.... Words cannot describe them beautiful work GW same with the Chaos Lord. overall I love the new models, I myself have ordered 2 Limited Edition sets

What do you all think?

I'll probably buy the Chaos Lord separately as he's my favorite model in the entire kit. I like how the Chaos looks more like Fantasy Chaos rather than the current "MARINES WITH SPIKES!" look.

Yeah... I'm not really impressed with them... they seem rather safe/expected (with the possible exception of the chaos marines)

Lets see..... I'm not impressed with the cultists but to be fair I was thinking traitor guard when I was picturing them so no surprise I'm disappointed.

Don't like the Dark Angels captain at all just way to busy.

Dark Angels marines should not have robes as only the veterans should have robes. So I have to disagree with you on that one. I am very happy to finally get some normal Dark Angels marines with iconography. They will go really well with my robed ones.

The Chaos Marines are awesome BUT they look so different from any other chaos stuff I'm not sure they will fit aesthetically with my other armies.

Overall I think this is a great starter set and you are getting some really nice miniatures for the price. I will probably splurge and get 2 plus three more tactical squads and 1 more set of cultists.

3500 pts Black Legion
3500 pts Iron Warriors
2500 pts World Eaters

Ok but the think with Chaos is they are about to get an update everyone knows this it wouldn't be logical on GWs part so I believe you will be seeing more of the Chaos Chosen types soon enough

I just looked at them, and I was rather surprised. As far as the models go, they look to be much better put together and designed than AoBR. It looks more like they gave you actual minis and less like they gave you two part snap-togethers.

But what really shocked me? I hate the models. The chaplain and librarian are great, and the bikes aren't actually that bad, but, as mentioned, it's tac squads without cloaks, and nothing really else to speak of.

The chaos models? What can I say? They're extremely busy, filled with a bunch of nonsense detailwork that isn't cohesive and actually DETRACTS from the models. You don't win sculpting by having more detail, you win by having the RIGHT detail. It looks like the people who put this together had no idea what they were doing, so they just threw a bunch of horns and bones and spikes onto a wad of GS and called it a model. The chosen do somewhat make up for this (but still suffer badly), and it's nice to have a proper plastic set for renegade guard, but still...

I feel like the biggest problem with everything in this box is that nothing is distinctive. Random green marines, and random marines that were dipped with PVA glue and dipped into a box of chaos bitz.

It looks like they tried really hard, but perhaps next time they should try smarter, rather than harder.

I'll give my breakdown on a unit-by-unit basis:
- Chaplain: I like this model a lot. I'm getting a Collector's Edition for myself just so I can have this model. The flowing cape, tabbard, and smoke make for a model with a good sense of motion to it.
- Master: This model rules. While his pose isn't terribly dynamic, it's not flat either. He's suitably blinged out for a captain, and the robes are cool.
- Librarian: No complaints from me.
- Terminators: I don't mind the repeat pose, no big deal. The posing on the assault cannon and the chainfist are a little stiff but not atrocious. I like the sergeant a lot, but I can't decide if I do or don't like the wings.
- Tactical Squad: They were able to actually make fairly dynamic models instead of the typical "I love my bolter" Marines, and I'm impressed. They're simple and uncluttered, which makes the Master look that much cooler. The sergeant's pose is a little odd, but the detailing is awesome so he gets a thumbs up from me.
- Ravenwing: Excellent. Simple, but excellent. I'm happy to finally see bikes with modern bolters on them. Their poses and detailing aren't out of this world, but they're solid models.

- Chaos Lord: I'm in love. This dude is one of the baddest sumbitches ever put to plastic.
- Chosen: Just as good as the lord, with two minor niggling points. For one, I don't like the random femur bone on the lightning claw dude's loincloth. For two, the bolter guys are very cool, but how often am I going to shoot bolters from a CC squad? I don't care that there's two of this guy, just wish he was BP/CCW.
- Hellbrute: The front of this model is awesome. The rear isn't very detailed in comparison to everything else, but I don't mind that much. It sort of evokes the RT era Chaos Dreadnought, which I like. I dig this model.
- Cultists: I've already said I don't care about repeated poses. I'm painting metal IG right now for god's sake! Some of the close combat cultists suffer from the same posing problems as the AoBR Ork boyz, but not quite as bad. I still like them plenty, and I like the variety from model to model. I definitely dig these dudes.

So yeah, if anyone was looking for my opinion on everything in the box, those are my thoughts. I like pretty much everything I see in there save for a few details!

There's not supposed to be. It's just like on the Dreadnought. There's a hard armor plate and the gun is mounted behind it.

Just like the sarcophagus on any of these.

in general the models look ok and you get a decent spread.

Speaking as someone that was thinking of getting back into 40K, I won't buy the set. I have no interest in Chaos and dont like any of the Space Marine but better factions. for cheaper models, there is too much dark angel iconography to use them as vanilla marines.

Man's got a point. That's bugging the hell out of me too.

I want to love the cultists, but I'll probably only run one box worth of them, with the rest converted from some cheap WGF greatcoats or something. Those repeat poses with literally no variation between them drive me crazy

I must say that I do really like the chaos marines, especially Mr. Unicorn-horn there. There's just something about him that I really really think is badass.

I'm kinda 'meh' about everything else, but if that's what the basic 'non-affiliated/khonate' chaos marines'll look like from now on- I think I might be tempted to wanna start a chaos army...

I like the Chaos Lord, the Librarian and the Chaplain. The chosen are kind of cool, I dislike the Cultists (I don't care about having chaff in my Chaos army, unlike some of you guys), and I actually really dislike the Hellbrute-I may actually like the classic Chaos Dreadnaught better. Ravenwing bikers...not bad, about what I'd expect from a SM bike squad, but I don't like the terminators-they seem too "busy". Same feeling on the DA Lord. Don't need more tacticals, so they barely got a glance from me. Liking a grand total of 9 models in the box makes this a "pass" for me.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
