I've found that if you need cash you can usually depend on a caravan raid... although frankly that scenario seems really broken, especially for pitslaves who get hatred when they play it.

My friend has also built the shootingist Van Saar gang possible after losing repeatedly with a more balanced gang. Personally I think Necro is better without too many extremes and it seems like all outlaw gangs are best used in moderation really.

By the way with hiding it all goes on whether the base can be seen, so even a tall model can hide as long as they can get their base behind cover.

HZ -Cheers dude. Of course Gremlins 2 too. Tips for terrain....it needs to look good from a distance. Spray Paint, Weathering Powder and Vallejo Smoke wash. If you can spray on the base coast you'll save a shed load of time.

Ghostflame - I would just house rule it that the wings don't count. In "reality" he would fold them away when not flying.



Bruticus - For a winged mutant I think Ghostflame hits the nail on head... I'll also be using him for loot/objectives and to pick off odd gangers. Armament if it comes to it; Auto pistol since he will be getting close quickly for the +2 to hit; Sword to make him better in combat.

You cannot buy mutations except when you buy a new mutant....you might get lucky on the advance and develop a mutation on a scavvy but it is a random mutation.

The whole Fanatic Outlaw and Outlanders system doesn't work properly. Outlaws can be quite rich due to them not having to use that chart to work out income. I'm of the opinion that Outlaws and Outlanders should have gotten one of those charts too, perhaps with some differences. Outlanders need to be rewritten en-mass and play tested against each other and normal gangs. You can get a better hoard of redemptionists than scavvies WTF!?

Yeah there are definitely a lot of issues with the outlander rules. There is a whole thing about buying off your guilder price that is obviously not practical and pretty much pointless anyway as being an outlaw is pretty desirable. You get the impression they intended maybe 1 outlaw gang for every few house gangs as it doesn't seem like they even thought about outlaw vs outlaw.

And the income systems are certainly broken, you can quite easily earn 200+ creds in one game by winning the caravan raid with a large gang, and far more than that for collecting bounty on a valuable ganger.

Bruticus - Yep. But I think what they were doing was making cool rules that they assumed would not be abused.

The scavvies are back! The scavvies are back! You've even got a deadline for making a bunch of them! I'm so so excited to see these come back on the table - you've improved everything so much in the last few years, and these are still one of my favourite things you've done.

Sounds like the head swap is probably a good plan though - I too am surprised by how orky that gobbo head turned out! The ghoul head should be a good replacement - not sure if screaming is the one I would have gone for, but I'm sure you'll change my mind.

Scarper - Aye a deadline... I think the last two wips blunderbuss and shaman, a winged mutant, the boss, eye stalk mutant.....think I might also go with an Ogre mutantion too made from plastic savage ork boss and perhaps a couple of grunts with stubber and maul...think these two might even be female.

The scavvies really are quick in comparison to the Inquisitor Retinue. Due to the nature of Necro compared to Inquisitor - the same can be said of the models too....thought the boss will get loads of attention.

I promise the screaming head works a treat....pics soonish I promise. I need to redo the base because he doesn't fit on the base any more. Scarper - scabby - Oh yeah. Flea ridden - hmmmmmm I don't think I can make a GS flea.

Not seen the lady ogryn....eek it is hideous and awesome at the same time. I'm hoping the lady savvies will be prettier since they will have daemonette heads...on ghoul bodies.

Progress - a little. Got started on the orc warboss conversion....he has imperial guard shoulder pads on his knees and I've put the first layer of gs on his face to alter it. Wish I'd thought to use/ had a crypt horror head. The little guy is pretty much done but his base is proving problematic with the wings are attached. So that will have to change.

He looks fantastic! I was wondering about the wings, and how you didn't use the rest of the nid-arm... I actually like the "butterfly" look to the mechanics of it. And how they're ripped up... great conversion man, can't wait to see this gargoyle painted up!

It's amazing, but he posted it on Dakka recently and not many people saw it! If I could get the search results to be a bit more useful in this forum I'd dig it out. We ought to have a system to spread the word about these things. The road is new though and looks amazing. I had been considering a road but I thought it would be too open for Necro, however with all those car wrecks it could well work...

Really happy with the base...the crackle paint is great stuff for breaking up flat surfaces.

He is going to be used as a simple scavvy but I think I might paint up three giant rats and also make him a beastmaster wyrd....

He's a real beaut - I absolutely love the skin tone, reminds me of white tribal war paint and suits a shaman to a tee! The rodent skull necklace is creepy-ass as well, and a great voodoo-esque touch - did you sculpt those yourself? Great choice of colours for his robes as well - got to love some nice earthy tones. I've also got to wonder if he realises quite how much that bionic on his trophy is worth

Plus, may be entirely off the mark here, but is his name a reference to a really really old school 90s track?

I'm with Scarp - great to see some love going to the scavvies again. Great piece, beautiful work as always Peter.

Two Spartan - Yep Neil101 pointed me the direction of crackle paint. Awful stuff to use but looks good afterwards....after some washes and soot.

Scarper - I am trying to spend less time procrastinating online and actually do some modelling. The rodent skulls are actually part of the base model...Throt the unclean. I'm pretty sure he hasn't noticed the bionic eye....he is totally blind and yet the rat has a bionic eye hhmmmmmmm funny was the Ratspike do. I try and keep things nice and drab...but I think the brown part of the robes need one more highlight.

His name is indeed a reference to a certain 90's dance track...hence the spelling of Shaman....Anyone got any Salmon? Also threw in a bit of a Bond villain.
