Awesome scavvies PDH!
I'm going to be modelling up a gang next month based on Skaven and I'm definitely going to be drawing some inspiration from this and Shockwave's threads.

Well Blunderbuss is I think finished. Just need to varnish him tonight after work. Probably have some pics up tomorrow.
Monkeytroll – The yellow drool looks good. I liken it to a yellowy chewing tobacco colour. (I love citadel washes). Cheers
Disty - Sounds really interesting. Looking forward to seeing them. The new skaven models are gorgeous. I really want to get my hands on the rat ogre with canisters in its shoulder from the new warhammer boxed game.
Ferrum - you lucky so and so 20 Brats. I've got a couple of others. One in sun glasses which is going to be part of my Rogue Traders Retinue, for possibly an =I=Munda based campaign but I’ll be finishing my Scavvies first.
Jackanory - Shame you don't get to play. I thought a few people in Japan played (I always thought the Tau were a GW marketing ploy for China and Japan). Of course Japan is a big country and I’ve no idea if where you live is close to a GW Japan. Good luck finding a game.

Disappointed, Mac abandoned the rusted, empty silo which he had just checked for anything salvageable. Mac darted silently across the open ground towards an outcrop of dark brown stalagmites. Once in cover he checked the surrounding area again for any signs of hostile life, of which in this part of the underhive was almost everything. Seeing nothing to be afraid of he continued to forage, remaining vigilant to possible dangers.
Mac rested his blunderbuss on the floor, the barrel facing away for him as the old weapons trigger was highly temperamental and he didn’t fancy advertising his presence to anything close by. Leaning in towards the closest stalagmite he took a closer look at the outcrop, growing from of the cracked plasacrete floor. The outer layer looked fresh and shimmered as if it were wet in the dull light of the dome. Mac sniffed the rock but could not discern any odour emanating from it. Pulling off a rat leather glove he reached out and cautiously touched the stalagmite with an outstretched finger. The smooth rock was damp to the touch and to his relief it did not burn his skin. Drawing his dull bladed knife from its sheath he scraped a little of the rock into his hand and raised it towards his mouth. He stuck his tongue out and gingerly licked a tiny shard of rock, spitting the taste away Mac’s twisted face turned into an unsettling grin. Pay dirt quite literally, Mac thought to himself, he had found a large outcrop of igneous adamantorite, a valuable commodity at the trade post. Mac looked up towards the dome roof looking for a leak, the source of this outcrop, but the darkness directly above was not lit by the scattered glow globes hanging from the ceiling many metres above.
Sitting with his back against his discovery, Mac smiled and gazed downwards at his battered old hand me down blunderbuss contemplating a reward. Perhaps Boss Grasbar would give him a better weapon, maybe a shotgun or if he was really lucky an autogun, so he didn’t have to get so close to the enemy, even a stub gun would do.
Deciding that is was best to get back to the gang’s temporary hideout before those, oiled up, Goliaths they had beaten yesterday came back or some denizen of the underhive ate him, Mac reached out and picked up the blunderbuss, then without using his hands he got up into a crouching stance. Checking that the area was still clear he dashed into the open and back behind the silo in the direction of the ruined tunnel they were holed up in. Mac, trying not to skip in his excitement decided he would bring some of the boys back and harvest the crop before selling it to that dodgy guilder Grasber knew…
After naming Wint and Our Kidd after film characters I’ve decided to do this with the rest of the gang. This is Mac named after Gene Hackman’s character from Loose Cannons, who apparently used a blunderbuss (yes I know a tenuous link but it’s stuck now).
Right, now onto Scaly number two. I was looking at him and noticed gaps where the arms meet the body, so I’ve had to put a little green stuff in them. So no painting tonight, hence a short story, while I watched the Great British Bake Off with Abigail (who was mercilessly teasing me about writing a little story about my little models ).

Thank you sir! Just send yourself over. We need more guys as Northern is moving to Kyoto to do his MA.
The new guy looks great. The extra little detailing in the base makes all the difference. Great great work! I will be sharing a link to this blog to my mates.

Yay, I’ve got the internet again...phew. I've also got a new computer and new Windows is a bit different than XP. Anyway I digress again.
Monkeytroll – Oh yes the drool looks nice....sorry I mean icky. Cheers
Migsula – I’m very upset to hear Northern is moving to Kyoto because I was hoping for another awesome =I=Munda blog. I wanted to know what was in the vessel and what the Syndicate were going to do with it?
hmmmm Pete in a parcel .... I’d love to go into my local post office, sit on their scales and see how much I cost to post.
Bear – I love the ghoul heads, they have so much character. Shame many of the heads are duplicated on the sprue. The scariest thing about the Ghouls though is the loin cloths...I think they are actually represent pubes!
Rune – Thank you. I’m waiting to see Shockwave’s painted. Now them some cool Scavvies.
Xenon – Thanks. Tell me about it too many projects so little time.... Mordhiem Beastmen, Snake Bite Boss Conversion (which might lead to a Gorka Morka mob), Games Day Space Marine, Death Guard Lord, AOV Dwarf Lord and Berserker, Warhammer Witch Hunter, Space Wolf Dread using FW Ultra Dread, Space Wolf Army (not true scale) and I’d better stop there I’m having palpitations. Wait room for one more... Femme Militia Mary Bones which has to be painted by Christmas 2010 or my sister will never buy me a model as a present ever again.
I’ve got tomorrow off work. So I’m having a modeling morning and then a couple of games of Necromunda, using my Cawdor, in the afternoon. Tomorrow mornings task.... finish my blue tacked interrogator and start putting together the two Scavvies
Thanks for the encouragement
Peter

Ironking - Hey dude. The blunderbuss is actually from the metal scavvy box. In a time long ago when GW let me buy bits from them separately. I bought the last seven plastic boars from GW mail order the same day Ah the sweet memory. Now I use Bits and Kits, what a fantastic place.
Vikingscott - oh yes. I thought they would be a better size than Ork arms.

Hi guys. I've had a brilliant day off work.
I just wasn't in the mood to get out of bed so didn't get as much modeling done as I'd planned. The interrogator went back in his bag. Started on the two Scavvies from yesterdays wip pic. The scavvy based on the grot, background wise I’m thinking originally a male Esher, is on the ruins to make him a little fairer in game terms. I think his head may be a little big but he's pretty much a mutant. I'm really happy how he has turned out. The Chef is coming along nicely and not an Ork head in sight.
I might get some modeling done tomorrow night, when Abi goes to a party. Depends how knackered I am from walking part of the Ribble Way.
My Cawdor did me proud this afternoon, beating some tasty Eshers in a gang fight. The highlight for me was my Heavy Stubber spending two turns of over-watch because he could not see anything. The Esher gang leader thinking it was safe to move round a corner because my heavy still couldn't see her. So in my turn he just walked 3” and shot at her with his Autogun. He might have missed but Martin’s face was a picture (and the heavy is WYSIWYG).
pj-brains – Well Blackpool is just down 25mins on the train from Preston. Paint up a gang (nice like your Ultras ) and then you’ll have to persuade the Mighty Zug to let us have a game at GW Blackpool.
Azekio - Cheers
Peter

Ok. These guys are going to get undercoated tomorrow. The small one will be painted separately to the base. For some reason I don't want to paint the second scaly just yet.
I'm really happy how the fat ones face turned out. I'm hoping painting it will bring out the detail and hide the flaws The fur shrug he's wearing is going to be matted and greasy. I'm considering painting the meat cleaver bloody? Originally I'd built a power maul* for him but it just didn't look right, so he got a stub gun instead.
Peter
* The scavvy would have stolen it from an enforcer... I on the other hand took inspiration from Col Hammer's Eva Kosutic conversion . I'm sure it will appear on a scavvy soon though.

Afternoon chaps, now the ironing, vacuuming and washing up are all done Abi has allowed me to reply (whilst I was taking the picture she just rolled her eyes and told me I'm not funny)
Shockwave, Scrazza and Ghosty - Is this big enough?
Whilst I agree with you all about the size of his meat clever its stuck in place and I doubt it will ever move again (famous last words and all just as the model plummets off a walk way ). Originally I stuck the clever from the Ogre bulls sprue in place but it was way too big. Then I made that fatal hobby mistake and didn't follow the golden rule of less is more. Cut it down to what you see and wish I'm left another mm in place. Never mind I'm still happy enough with it. I've gone for a true scale look
Oh and thanks guys for your comments I thought that meat clever my grandma bought me would never get used.
Seriously though thanks for the comments.
I started painting the bases today. I find if I paint the model first then the bases get rushed (and all that dry brushing is messy)
Commander Cain - Thank you, I'll try.
