Ok so here’s my army so far:
¾ completed FW shas'ui w/marker light & female head
12 ¾ completed FW
2 ¾ completed kroot
2 complete kroot pending painting
4 ½ complete shield drones
4 complete gun drones pending painting

Not too bad I don’t think??

Kroot have drilled gun barrels (really great looking!), FW shas'ui is designed to be holding a marker light & mounted on a rock (looks really good, pics up over weekend)

Generic comment about how all Tau are female. :-P

I guess people think blue skinned hooved females are sexy in the grim dark, as well as world of warcraft...

You might want to have a look at the Kadesh conversion parts by Zealot Miniatures, they have nice heads and torsoes and fitting arms:

Those parts kind of look like they are made out of thumb prints...

Thumb prints are good for dispersing the impact of energy weapons.

Well apart from looking god aweful, no one has any idea if Tau females have any other externally diserning features other than the differentlty shaped head marking.

I have to agree, the heads look good, but the torsos not so much, just stick with the normal Fire Warriors bodies.

I think I will get some of those heads and torsos for a tau firwarrior squad.

I believe they are afraid small breasts won't be noticeable on the miniature. I think the normal chest looks fine on female tau though. Kroot are birds, I would guess the females just have a duller complexion then the males. Now female gun drones I have no idea how one could do that.

I guess we have to wait for pics to see how the OP is going things.

also, it would be nice if we could have a female tau thread without everyone crying about tau not having boobs or the boobs being too big and unrealistic (which is kinda ironic as your talking about a race of blue fish/cow people who breath out of slits in their foreheads). In fact if we could disregard talk about boobs altogether and focus more on how the op's models look in a positive way then that would be great as I for one don’t want to scroll through a gack ton of pages of people whining about what a made up races female species should look

Maybe people don't want to scroll through pages were the idea of a 'female' army is tits, tits and more tits. Suprising for a nearly all male hobby, there are alot of us on dakka that actuallysee it as not only unrealistic (in the fluff setting) but also rather sexist.

Yes you can say that its ironic because they are imaginary, but at the end of the day this is a community game and if you create something that sticks out like a sore thumb in that game settingyou are gonna get negative comments. It doesn't matter how well written the fluff or well painted the mini, if the underlying principle is 'i want a tit army' it is still gonna get a negative reaction.

Sure, you'll get negative comments. But it's up to people to make their army exactly how they want to. If someone wants boobTau, then there's nothing you can do about it other than refuse a game if asked.

whiIe agree some people might not want to scroll through a boob army page, it's less of a bother to them as they dont have to look at it if they dont want to but if your like me, the op or who ever and want to see this army it's more of a pain haing to scroll through the gerneric "boobs are bad etc" comments :/ I know this kind of thread will attract negative comments but I for one would like to see as less as possible or better yet, both good comments and constructive ones.

also, you are jumping the gun a little, calling it sexist as we are yet to see the models. for all we know they could be like the one realistic female tau conversion floating around advancedtautactics.

for now can we just all hold off on hate posts untill we see pics as for all we know these could be really well done rather than "lets slap some tits on it and call it a day" conversions

Boobs are good. Unfortunately, not that many 28mm model breasts ('specially heroic scale ones) are pretty awful. xD

Here's hoping this looks good either way it goes though.

Maybe its just the armour which is like that? Kind of standard large size so anything fits?

I think female Tau should have four breasts (or udders), as they've got other bovine features. I like the heads, the torsos leave something to be desired. I don't want strippers in armour.
