is it me but thta GK DK sword is..backwards? thought the power source pack thing at the hilt was facing the model. But meh, who cares, looks badass anyways. Personally I wouldve positioned him a little different, that sword kinda makes him off balanced.

not nearly as professional as some things I saw arounds here but I'm quite happy with my bjorn made from a AoBR dread,m as well as my Swamlord, who never got to see any cover during 5th edition.

My Eldar Bastion. It's mostly done, I'm still thinking about what I want on the side fins. This is my first major attempt at free-hand painting (I've done a few runes on my farseer and that's about it) so any constructive criticism on that would be appreciated.

For Hordes, there's this guy. Essentially, I took the metal conversion kit that you'd normally apply to a plastic Warpwolf kit, and applied it to the Extreme version from the PP webstore.

Here's what normal Ghetorix looks like: http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gallery/circle-orboros/warbeasts/ghetorix
And the Extreme: http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gallery/circle-orboros/privateer-exclusives/warpwolf-extreme

So I combined them:

And just to give an idea of the size of this guy:

"The 75mm gun is firing. The 37mm gun is firing, but is traversed round the wrong way. The Browning is jammed. I am saying "Driver, advance." and the driver, who can't hear me, is reversing. And as I look over the top of the turret and see twelve enemy tanks fifty yards away, someone hands me a cheese sandwich."

Thanks! The idea isn't mine, I modelled it on similar projects I've seen on the Privateer forums. It was an interesting project, especially having to chop up and reassemble that damn axe.

Its not my most heavily converted model, but it is my most recent one. I tell ya, its kinda scary taking a dremil to a $70 dollar model for the first time.

I know how you feel. That's the same reason why my Heldrake isn't converted despite the fact that i don't like the basic pose that much.

Your pose looks cool and if i should get another one i may steel your idea. :-) I also like the burned land on the base. Just one glance and you know what havoc this beast will cause.

I love what you did with the Helldrake, I have an idea to kitbash/scratch-build my own from an old Ral Partha Skeletal Dragon and some plasticard, like this one:

Wanted a Maulerfiend the moment I saw one, despite not having a Chaos Space Marine army.

I wanted the mouth to be open, and after many, many attempts of making a mould of the face using green stuff I couldn't get it right properly so tore apart the head itself. I used the teeth from one of the other cannons for the new teeth. I wanted guns coming out the back but with the exhausts made it rather difficult, so shoulder mounted them, I ended up what I thought were spare shoulder parts to cover up the original holes for arm joints but later found out that these weren't spare shoulder pads, they were pads for the legs. Luckily I had some spare Daemon Prince shoulder pads to work with to cover the mistake.

For some reason I could not get the pose of the original model. I'm fairly sure I did everything (normal) correctly, but no matter how I tried, I could not get the foot in a position that the right fist would lay on the ground as well, the tentacles kept getting in the way. So initial response: "Bollocks to it" and had it raised up.

Love that maulerfiend.!
I am thinking of doing the same kind of thing. i dont like how the forgefiend has 4 tiny legs.

What is that wire-stuff called / where can I get some? Been needing something like that for a project I'm working on, but wasn't really sure where to look. Not that I've done much looking yet.

Electric guitar string?

That's what it looks like to me, anyway.

 Alleton wrote:
I don't know if guitar string was used for this particular model, but the string IS used for tubing of this type, so I'd recommend checking the local musical instrument store.

correct, it is guitar wire from a local music shop. Works good, jut a little hard to get good short bends.

 lone dirty dog wrote:
Guitar string go to ebay you can get it cheap although I would recommend Zinge industries wire as it bends easily and has the same look as guitar wire.
However his site is down at the moment, but as soon as it is back I can get you a link if you want .

Link for Zinge http://www.zinge.co.uk/

I will have to check that out.

That is awesome. I have the mini you based that on, and its one of my favorite fantasy minis. Might have to see if I can get ahold of a recast and do something similar to what you did there. A real one is just too expensive (for me) to cut up.

My contribution: This guy WAS the missionary with the plasma gun http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1140075 but since he cant take a PG I had a lot of work to do in order to get him fit for my IG or Inquisitor henchmen warband.

The book is from a commissar (no clue what happened to the rest of the commissar) and the Eviscerator is from the sentinal kit. Since his right arm was robotic to begin with, I can just imagine him getting ready for battle thinking to himself "regular robot arm or large choppy arm today?"

He's 90% done... needs some clean up and some wash on the metal, I just couldnt wait to share him!
