That's what it looks like to me, anyway.

I don't know if guitar string was used for this particular model, but the string IS used for tubing of this type, so I'd recommend checking the local musical instrument store.

Guitar string go to ebay you can get it cheap although I would recommend Zinge industries wire as it bends easily and has the same look as guitar wire.

Each unit will have a different color of clothing and a different Mon (insignia) on their Sashimono (back-banners). The red armor ties the entire army together.
The WIP Melta-Vet Squad will be in blue clothes while the plasma Vets will be in green. I'll probably do a plainer brown for regular Platoon Guardsmen without banners (since they are nubs and not worthy of individual recognition) and bare heads with the japanese top-knot hair instead of helmets.

That is a really cool idea! I really like the look of the squad. How did you come up with the idea?

My best kitbash is

The head and body are from the DA vets kit, the crozius is a banner topper mounted onto a "holding something hand" and that in turn is put onto a more outstretched arm. The backpack is a servo skull head used as a banner topper and the incense burners are bitz from the DA vet kit, as are the shoulders and the incense burner part of his ropework. The sword is a gift on two levels, first from a Space Wolves Rune Priest as a spoil of war from the great duel that happens every thousand years between the two arch Rivals the DA and SW and a physical gift from my GF's space wolves pack.

As for Conversion models I've got a DV RW Sgt with Dual chainswords and a MKII Jump pack I'm working on PURELY for the absurdity of it.

Instead of just painting her up, I decided that I needed to use GS. This actually was the first time I've ever tried my hand at it and I think it turned out pretty well! And all of the tentacle thingys are Spikes. This is an Undivided/Black Crusade Daemon Engine so it isn't Nurgle. And all of the other non-spiky bits are supposed to be exposed fleshy bits such as muscles and tendons. The first few pics aren't that great, but the others are better for some reason. My phone camera is crappy and I don't have the funds to buy a real camera. I enjoy this model for all of the very slight changes and alterations I did. All of my bits came from either the Bloodcrushers or Chaos Marauders kits. And of course GS I did all of the spikes because I figured the Daemon inside would reshape the metal to fits its liking more. And he is a spiky daemon! And on the face is a lot of gore from eating people!

I was building up a Samurai themed GK and C:SM army sets, then when 6th came out with allies I started the IG as an ally force and to use as Crusaders/Warriors in a Coteaz list...but since then these guys have been the main focus. I finished the banners on my Melta-vets this evening and they get 2 coats of Testers dull-coat tommorow.

It is indeed. Fixing it to the intake that usually sits behind it was a bit fiddly and needed some trimming and filling, but it actually works remarkably well as a cockpit. I added some textured pasticard to the sides just to hide the weapon mount holes and one of the Valkyrie nose sensors I had kicking about.
