As to grooves. Cut one length full, then cut another into strips glued on with gaps. Curvature should be ok. and there you have grooves. Just a suggestion.

Interesting ideas. Also, I'm teacher, I can retire early. Say, 89?

Yeah, so many options. I think I'm going to.use them to brace the external walls. And yeah, if anything he's more of star wars fan than his big brother

Cheers! The filthy is time consuming so I'm going to focus on the tanks one at a time from here.
Also, I cut the walls to the right length:
I'm using the plastic sawdust to add texture to the surfaces also. I think the clips will become braces, as I said. Still not found the right waste for the doors though. Have scavenged a couple of old printer cartridges. As they're interesting shapes for something maybe.

Had thought about sprue - will be some left from the clips - and paint lids just didn't quite work. You can see we have similar thought patterns (eep). Tape reels is interesting.

vik - I think they're blue as that's the spot colour on all the SOB stuff, it's just decoration.
Either that or the sister's arms are made of plasma, and various little parts on the vehicles are in critical meltdown stage
No, the paint lids aren't all that - although the older flip-top versions may be more useful - the black plastic ones on the hexaganol pots - they look slightly more useful
oh god...please, won't someone think of the children

Oh, definitely meltdown no, indeed, spot colour.
I may have gone and done something stupid:
Prepaints, though, so no extra work.
Well, maybe a wash.

Good job on that WizKids.
Tho FFG did the solid job on the star wars ones.
By and large, they're not too bad. The battleship could be a little bigger, and jem fighter's definitely too large, but most of the ships were fine up until voyager tos enterprise is tiny!
The Borg, however, are pretty crazy broken. Still, I really like the dominion ships and I am a sucker for ds9 stuff generally *shrug*.

Out of a necron scarab? The official game on is way too big. I have the cards, so could use it as a playable ship in game...
