seeing as flyers are now king and I wouldnt mind owning one I've found myself trying to find a more slaaneshi helldrake. something about a cyber dwagon just doesnt do it for me but I'm at loss as what I can use :/ for parts I'd like it to all be GW but it's not exactly necessary.

would just like to hear all of your ideas on what would make a good stand in for a slaaneshi helldrake ^.^

Dragon could make an alright base for it, if you really wanted. Thing just needs to be made a bit sleeker and faster looking.

That's an extreme route to take.

Id say use green stuff and do a little bit of sculpting with it. Put on a set of demon wings, use the green stuff to fill in the spaces and make it flesh like. Could make the neck longer and make it look more like a drake from lord of the rings. Could also find some old slenich bits for the head and see what you come up with.

Use the helldrake, and the tendrils from the forgefiend or the lash from the defiler to have a forest of tentacle dropping from under the drake.

Seconded, not only is that dragon an awesome model, it definitely has a slaaneshi feel to it.

I like the idea of a longer, more elegant flyer. maybe like a larger version of the fantasy lord's mount but with wings and cyber parts

Awww, I thought my idea had a certain slaaneshi quality that these other ideas lacked. It could certainly be a longer flyer, depending on the toy you picked out. Although I'm not sure you could ever call it elegant. Throbbing, maybe.

The basic Helldrake would be a good starting point. Greenstuff the wings to make the lightning trim more wavy and curved. Possibly add brass pipes and horns to make it look like it plays some hellish cacophony as it soars through the air. Tentacles are a must, organic oneswouod look best, Watcher in the Water tentacles maybe? Perhaps a Tyranid head plus a ton of greenstuff could make a good head, I was thinking a sort of Alien styoe domed eyeless head.

No dwagony-dwagons, huh? How about a phoenix? Dig up some bird model and put purple and pink flames on it? Or patch one together from fantasy bits, maybe griffon wings in there somewhere. Or get your paws on one of those warshrine thingies and stick Slaanesh tentacles on it, make it up all posh and fancy and flying.

I think see what you can do with some Nids MC's mashed with slaanesh a flying trygon with defiler bits or something along those lines. Try sketching it out and seeing what looks like what on other kits.

You could possibly use the Nazgul Witch King mount from LOTR. IT's basically a flying black worm with daemonic wings?

so, so far I'm thining of re-posing the trigon and smoothing over it with GS to make a massive boob worm and painting the carapace as fused armour (add some banding to it). I'll also be cutting out the second plate from the top of the torso to fit a rider with a gun mount. the head and fins will have to be scratch built but oh well :'3 I'll then be scratch building/buying some helldrake wings to fit to the side so it can fly. that or see if balrog wings would be big enough and use them

No one is parting out heldrakes on ebay and I know there is a demand for them right now. So good luck on the parts (if you find someone please let me know) and toys are out but if its a giant flying boob worm its totally cool? I fail to see logic

well I mean who needs wings go with the "It's chaos I don't have to explain gak" approach and be a flying worm jetting through the sky or say its breast work as hot air balloons. Oh demon boobs is there nothing you can't solve.

If you're going to use a tyranid as the base, you'd better be really good at what you're doing or it'll look like a tyranid when its done. I've seen too many amateur converters trying to pass off something that is obviously a tyranid as something else, they're just too distinctive. I don't know about you but I don't like conversions like that.

You could try some dark eldar or eldar kits to slaanesh it up. I find dark eldar to look more slaanesh then the actual csm. That just me.

How big is the actual Helldrake? I can think of a lot of different things which have either part or in whole bits that can be used to make a Slaanesh flavored flying monster thing - however, I would need to know sizes in order to filter out things which are too large or small.

What about using a DE raider/ravager as some sort of flying-pleasure-barge?

Have a CSM lounging in a throne while other slaaneshi marines hang off the side doing evil things, and some dude up front manning the baleflamer/autocannon turret?

also I don't think the balrog wings will work well with the trygon, you need something larger to give it a somewhat realistic sense of wings to body size ratio
unless you don't mind that in which case enjoy

, or possibly try the new tyrant kit wings, they might work

Also someone mentioned un-niding the body, couple ways to do that is one, try to avoid using nids limbs like scything talons, someone mentioned using the forgefiend/maulerfiend metal tendrils, I think using those would give it a very chaos-y look
also either completely redo the had or get rid of it all together, the nid heads are very distinctive
maybe use the gap where the head would be and put in lamprey teeth instead, the round circular jaw
hope it comes out the way you want it, would love to see it finished

I second the butterfly or moth idea. Make some wings out of plasticard, attach them to the back of the giant boobworm, perhaps give it some dainty biomechanical legs.
