Lol, I didn't know that was an actual swear word to the point of being censored over there. Over here it's considered less of a curse than Bangers & Mash! Yet they just go around spelling their cigarettes with an F. Oh well, it's all poppycock I say.

Never would've guessed that word is so bad. I hear it so often from British characters, I thought it was nothing special.

I always thought it was basically the equivalent of saying "bs" or something.

Hmm...after looking up some info on that, I just realized it was issue #900. It will not be too much longer before he hits 1000. Are there any others that are close to that? I can't think of any that have passed that point.
BTW forget about those marvel comics that are numbered 1000. That's kind of lame.

I think Marvel was trying to beat them with a thrice monthly Amazing Spider-Man. However, the quality suffered and now they've gone done to twice monthly. I don't think that's enough to win the race to 1,000.

Reading new Turok. Issue 2 answered a question I always had: Turok is Omamiwini. A totally obscure tribe I've never heard of but a real one that I believe is part of the Algonquin peoples.
Throw in some belligerent Aztecs, African Panther people, dinosaurs and some dude with lighting-phaser-gun-thing and a good time is being had by all.

The last USM story I read was Tainted Love, the one with the Chameleon. I hate evil Doppelganger stories.
Just orderer a few 'pool TPBs from Amazon. The first two Classics and the Spider-Man Team-Up.

That USM story arc was definitely uncomfortable but that's why I'm digging the ultimate verse now. When JJJ got shot in the head I honestly didn't know if he was alive or dead. Now he knows spidey's Parker. As you know in normal Universe that would have to be undone with a magical spell.
Don't know if you got the Ultimate Mystery/Doom/Enemy trilogy or mini-series but some big changes in there too.
Hope you like the deadpool trades. They start of hilarious but get darker and darker. Prepare for more uncomfortableness.

I'm not sure if "uncomfortable" is the word I would use. Evil Doppelgangers are just the trope I'm most tired of, because they always play out the same way. Villian looks like hero, acts like a completly different person which alienates his friends and allies. And even though it wasn't him, the damage is done. I just can't stand those stories.
I think there was something called Ultimate Enemy, but I didn't read it.
Recently I bought the Assassin's Creed TPB, the one with the Russian Assassin. It was okay, but only the next game will show the importance to the plot of the games.
Has anyone read Iron Man Noir?

the old series i loved to tell you the truth.. shaman and sasquatch and box and northstar...or puck... loved puck...eh?^^ the series had a nice touch... and of course i came from the x-men books to alpha flight...but the charm of the charcters and their struggles got me... back in my days then i had quite the big collections of the series...and mind you i started in german alpha versions but soon had to switch as the translation was just horrible and tended to leave out so much plot and charcter development... in germany most comic in the early times had not been handlettered...total crap...

Well Sasquatch is still there due to being indestructable. Shaman's back and Northstar too. (pssst, Northstar is totally gay. Don't know if this is mainstream's comics first dude-on-dude inter-racial kiss but there ya go)

marvel now as i recall has quite some gay charcters...it is still a shame that the interracial thing is such a big issue...oh i forgot and just remebered vidicator...quite a good leaderess with lots of problems and issues...the series lived from the problems the charcters encountered due to their privat life or the things they mostly caused by them selves... the only team i recall acting mostly on emergency calls and assignments were the west coast avengers...^^ but they got canceled even earlier than AF... Automatically Appended Next Post: by the way... who draws that new book of AF?

Art by Ben Oliver, Dan Green. It's pretty good.

Or just google Alpha Flight 0.1. Honesty it wasn't that great, hoping it kicks into gear with official #1.
