Clever way of selling some folks 2 of each mini! for the completionist that wants alt. colour schemes as well. The Wyrm Claw Templar appears to be the one in Silhouette a new mini boss that has yet to be revealed.
Project Update #6: Goro Unlocked—Choose Your Goro!
Posted by Soda Pop Miniatures ♥ Like
The new Dungeon Boss, Goro has been unlocked!
This capricious spirit has long been both boon and bane to the inhabitants of the Fae Wood. Now your brave Heroes can journey through his lair and face him themselves.
CHOOSE YOUR GORO!
Due to popular demand we have created two versions of Goro. One with his "angry" face as depicted in the art and one with a mischievous smile as depicted in this fun piece of fan recoloring.
We will be performing a 48 hours quick poll to determine which facial expression we use. Just follow this link to choose your favorite Goro!
Coming up Next
Next up we have two new LOOT items.
Joining our potion counters are these excellent wound counters, perfect for tracking all the damage and destruction unleashed in your games.
You've all asked for it, so now it's time for some Dark Heroes to join the cause of Crystalia! No one truly knows what motivates these desperate individuals. In truth, it matters little so long as they remain loyal to the party for the adventure at hand.

I went for growling it just looks more boss like to me but either would be fine the sculpt at least looks a lot better than the artwork. Pity they have the result page locked so you can't see the current result.

For the Dark Heroes, which ones are in the base game, the FK game, and the expansions? I'm new to SDE, so would only like to buy FK and the base set for now. Thanks!

The Centurion, Succubus, Assassin, and Captain are all single-packed minibosses that are currently available. I believe the rest are part of FK

Trent and bashful Boris are minibosses from The Forgotten King representing the deeproot treenant and bearstruk berserker.
Succubus Vandella, herald of Vulcanis, Captain R, and Kaelly the nether strider are all individual minibosses. They will represent the heroes: outcast succubus, dark centurion, cursed captain, and nether assassin.
the wyrm claw templar hero has no known miniboss to represent it and has only a silhouette in the image; so expect a new miniboss stretch goal soon.
None of the minibosses from the original box, Caverns of Roxxor, or Von Drakk Manor have heroic counterparts listed.
'Fan recoloring?' I hope this doesn't happen any more, this whole voting to redesign a mini based on fan art during a kickstarter sounds a bit like bad news to me, especially considering how their last kickstarters went and what they're up to as a business now.
I plan on jumping on board, the game looks great, but I really hope this doesn't happen again.

Yep, agreed- fan-based decisions aren't usually the best in the long run (except good playtesting).
The smile fails the same way I feel Malifaux's Teddy fails (particularly in the new version and the nightmare smile) in that a malicious smile shows understanding of the contrast, that a blank smile or a grimace don't.

That smile looks pretty malicious to me ...
I'll be happy whichever one gets voted in though. They both seem pretty bad-ass to me, in a giant, fluffy teddy bear sort of way.

Other than the belly-skull looking a bit too "embossed", I'd agree! I voted for the smile for the same reason that getting chased by an axe murderer is much less terrifying that getting chased by a giggling axe murderer.
I am a tad concerned over the cost of these add-ons though - ultimately I simply won't get them if the value isn't there, but they do seem to be extremely expensive for mass-produced boardgame pieces. I suppose they're comparable to the pricey individually-sold Tannhauser models, but those were pre-painted to a...decentish quality, and each included a rulebook & scenarios, chunky player board and more tokens than is sensible. Hopefully we'll start to see some bundling later in the campaign, or something like AQ's $50 expansion.

I was saying I thin a malicious smile on the "theoretically cute, but giant and threatening" is too self-conscious and ruins the effect.

I actually think the smile backs the lore, he's supposed to be a trickster. He's actually got really cool lore, I just hope they're making decisions well. Otherwise, how do I submit a design?

Looks like a new expansion in coming - $30 add on for 18 minis
Project Update #7: Wound Counters Unlocked—Emerald Valley Revealed
Posted by Soda Pop Miniatures ♥ Like
Every Always Super Pledge will receive 30 acrylic wound counters! In addition, you can now purchase a counter pack in the Blacksmith Shop with 30 wound and 12 potion counters for $15.
Our next stretch goal is a fan favorite:
The Dark Hero pack will allow you to use the mini-bosses from Forgotten King as well as several previous mini-bosses as Heroes!
Trent the Treant as Deeproot Treant
Bashful Boris as Bearstruck Berserker
Herald of Vulcanis as Dark Centurian
Succubus Vandella as Outcast Succubus
Captain R as Cursed Captain
Kaelly the Nether Strider as Nether Assassin
A still super secret mini-boss as Wyrm Claw Templar
Trent and Bashful Boris already come with the Always Super! Pledge. Previous mini-bosses are available via the Soda Pop Store or will be available via the pledge manager option at the end of the campaign.
Emerald Valley
The Emerald Valley is a difficult place to find even among the inhabitants of the Fae Wood. It is home of the dragon, Glimmerwing and she protects her realm with powerful glamors and fae magic that conceal it from the rest of the Crystalia. Glimmerwing rarely leaves her secluded vale preferring to spend her time among the Kodama and Kinoko that flourish there. Her reclusive nature should not be mistaken for a desire to live peacefully. Indeed, she guards her domain and its borders ruthlessly. She is often known to leave the Emerald Valley to strike out against any who journey too near, even if the travelers do so unknowingly.
The Silver Chevaliers have long sought glorious causes across Crystalia. Finding and destroying Glimmerwing proves to be just such a cause. After all, what gallant knight could resist the lure of traveling deep into an enchanted forest to slay a dragon?
Showcase
We have already unlocked a number of fantastic models. The showcase is our opportunity to break them out in larger pictures than the stretch goal graphics so you can see their fantastic art and sculpts in greater detail.

I think this is how they'll be doing "mini expansions" in the future - the full-price ones come with 3 heroes, 2 monster groups (each with their own miniboss) and a boss for $60. The smaller ones come with 1 hero and 1 monster group including miniboss for $30.
This actually makes these smaller expansions technically worse value, but I can certainly see $30 of value in that set. Maybe that's just next to a $20 boss, of course!

And this makes yet another paid-add on which will cost more during the KS than at retail from discounters...
If they feel they have a 100$ core/60$ expansion/30$Mini-pack/12.95$Hero price structure, we get a minimum 20% OFF retail.
So I can't justify paying 30$ for this expansion and 10$ a hero for something I can get later for less or at worse, the same price direct. If they tried to sell that 'mini expansion' for more than 35$ MSRP they would be crazy.
If they were giving us 30%off retail, I would buy every add on now. It is like they don't want people's money and rather get raw profit opposed to expand the line. It feels like they are intentionally putting the breaks on this now that they have 'enough'.
Also: Could the price tag on the stretch goal image be any smaller? If it was a physical print-out the price would be hidden on the back.

It's actually a great deal. I have bought all my SDE from miniaturemarket, which is the cleapest place around. Here's the numbers:
Forgottng king $100:
base game
three card sets
large expansion - 1 hero and 15 minis, 5 of which are large
3 extra hero packs
2 potion sets
Expansion 2- emerald valley warband:
$30 has 15 minis which includes a boss, etc
Add on heroes:
$10 each both small and $15 for the large
Add on boss:
$20, large boss with cards and other cards
Total for a pledge with one of each hero, boss, and large expansion: $200
------------------------------------------------------------------------
MINIATURE MARKET (discount prices)
base game - $80
mini bosses/heroes - $10.39 each
large expansions (bosses, heroes, large # of minis) - $48
small expansions: $23-35
So by the math, the $200 all inclusive will cost: $296 if bought at a discount store. This is without the potion or heart counters or the three card packs as I wasn't sure how to price them (nothing to compare them to... or the price of shipping from a discount store.
So its a hell of a deal! I just hope they don't add too much more as my wallet is getting stretched thin, and Zombicide season 3 is just around the corner!
