Did some searching
I still think one of these would be good for midas
Bequin
Harlon
Kara would be a conversion like this
And found this Fischig opion on eBay
Automatically Appended Next Post: DUDE. I want all of this terrain. When is the killteam release Date?

It *should* be out by the end of July, at least GW said it would last February.
One thing I might suggest would be to use one of these bodies
for Fischig, with a head swap from that eBay mini and a shotgun from the SM scouts. It'd look a little more modern and, more importantly, wouldn't be comically short.

Thanks ember! That’s great news about kill team but really too bad about the arbites model. You’re totally right though all the old metal models I’ve gotten from GW are way too short and I don’t have the chops to make that thing taller, nor would I risk cutting up a $25 model. I’ll just get the artell one
https://artelw.com/#w--ul-id-570-2/The-Chastener-2-0/p/97114448/category=27134181--w
Kirkee pretty much finished up the flatiron last night. My WIP count-as rattling snipers and a knight are added for scale
And it’s magic! As you might remember the whole board has to be designed to be moved and fit through a 32” doorway. So this new top is detachable
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also doing a few more molds but considering the heat here I’m afraid we may have issues

This build is absolutely bonkers! The scale and detail is truly amazing...I wish I had the room to build and store something of this magnitude.
Thank you for sharing, I’m definitely subscribing to this.

So I decide to get some help with my mold for the anphelion base half octagon wall piece. This thing is supposed to be a staple of my 3-4 more hab towers and my original mold wasn’t doing it. It was a surface mold so every base was a different height and I was having to do a lot of grinding/filling. Which for a building that is supposed to be 9 stories tall doesn’t come out so well. Imagine:
I turned to someone I usually just consult with and asked him to just build me this one. It wasn’t cheap but it’s way better than what I would have come up with. It has vinyl sides to keep the box perfectly inform, a vinyl cap with vent holes which keeps the base perfectly flat, long cuts with mesh tape on the end to make demolding easier and is built from a harder silicon. The casts are coming out perfectly now and I can imagine the rest of these towers Coming along much faster now.
Also got some more paint on the flatiron

Wow only 3 months! Feels like a lot longer.
sorry guys, we listed our house for sale and for some reason it was better to not have a huge diorama taking up the whole garage during the open houses. Still need to get through some inspections but hope to be back in the laboratory in a few weeks.
Also, bought an insane amount of the Sector Imperialis stuff to add

What progress looks like. Getting right back into things by starting on two big projects I’ve been procrastinating on:
First, Finally building and securing the monorail. This is a really hard part of the board due to their height and narrowness. Like everything else we want these to be strong and stand up to play. So they are actually built with 3/4” galvanized pipe that are screwed to the table via their floor flanges and drilled and fitted into the monorail track itself (aka the sidewalks out of the imperial sector set). We have 4 of the 6 posts in and just need to figure out the slight turn before adding the others .
Second and at the same time, we are starting work on making one of the two man bridges able to swing out so players can get to the middle of the board for access. No good pictures on the hindge mechanism because it’s ugly but I will show how we are rearranging the bridge layout to accommodate. We’ve now moved what will be the intact road bridge to the west side (right next to the monorail) and the destroyed bridge to the east side.
Seems like the plan is for the bridge to have a Brooklyn bridge feel and in doing so I believe Kirkee is going to use all of our new imperial sector walls

Thanks. Will probably put another foam board strip across the bottom to provide better support and put the Water affects on it.
Works pretty well though
The large bridge is coming along too but the glue time is slowing us down
That and I’m concerned we might run out of sector flooring parts

Is the plan to build it all with every single detail before painting? Or what do you have in mind for painting phase?

I think anymore painting will have to wait until we’ve made a lot more progress. Maybe I will do the catacombs but that’s probably it. The board has some big projects already on the docket. Including the new large bridge and the building we are adding next to the bastion

How playable you think the table is so far?
im still drafting up my table and im having a hard time figuring out how to make a playable table that isnt a bunch of half triangle ruins :/

Not sure about playability Desubot. That’s something I think I’m going to need all of your opinions on. There aren’t a lot of open areas and vehicle access is going to be limited to the upper areas. I’ll take a video sometime before the new year with progress at that point and we can take a poll to see what game you all think the board will be best for ( 40k, killlteam, necromunda, etc.)
But more importantly here’s some progress on the main bridge.
First, the inspiration:
A side view of the WIP first two towers where they will be placed approximately:
North tower with the statue attached:
Middle tower. (Still needs, base, statues, etc):
And here’s the layout concept for once we get the supports in:
Might add a small statue for the middle post. Idk
Thx

Yeah, I really like the bridge too but that’s not honestly my baby. That’s kirkee’s.
I’m using more of the same concept and new imperial sector terrain to add another basic building. Not much to see yet just the initial layout and placement. This will get dolled up a bunch so they don’t look so similar.
Being on the tableside it will also be open backed and playable
Still trying to decide on height. Thinking one more full level of the old city fight wall height and then capping it or adding a destroyed level of the sector stuff (I have a ton but I really didn’t want so many buildings with damage)

Looking awesome! Why not both? You could cap a complete layer, and then have a small ruined area on top of the sealing, like the top of a stair well to the roof or a small penthouse area or something. That would basically give a neat little area for a sniper or heavy weapons nest in game. Something I've noticed- the fortress is starting to get quite closed in by buildings on each side now. This doesn't affect it's ability to defend from enemies outside the wall, but the way the crenelations extend around the city side suggest it is clearly intended to be a strongpoint in the event of any breach of the wall or civil unrest. With that in mind, would you consider revising the battlement to add some kind of machicolations? It would be an unusual and really cool little bit of realism to add to a 40k bunker, and certainly in keeping with the terrain being defended. this would allow the fort to protect the street directly below the battlements, and not just cover the nearby buildings and elevated roads. I know it is complete pedantry, but it would add a touch of practicality that would make the defences seem more real. Seeing as you are otherwise making an amazingly immersive cityscape, I thought I'd mention it

All really good points haighus
I think I’ll do the top of the new building like you mentioned.
In Regards to the bastion, you’re also right. The concept was to be a fort that supported the outer wall but also be protected so that it’s safe should the city revolt or something. Having a building right next to it like you mentioned does compromise it but honestly I just really wanted another building. I hope the bastions purpose will still speak for itself and not be lost
Another thing that came out when I place the new building is that the second level perfectly lines up with the lower balcony of bastion. This goes along the same lines but do you guys think it would be ok to add a small man bridge inbetween the two? My imagination of the gothic feel of 40k suggests always adding more bridges but like you said the bastion should be protected from the outside. Other points are that the bridge would make both areas more playable and could possibly be explained away by the building serving some administrative purpose.
Had to google “machicolations”. Could you explain what a futuristic version of those would look like?

A bridge would work great! If you wanted to have some fun with the hobbying, could always make it a futuristic drawbridge... Maybe looking like the tipping bridges that are on canals and rivers that carry shipping.
Like a smaller version of this:
I don't think the bastion is lost- it still looks awesome and imposing, it just has blind spots for defenders. Of course, this could easily be explained away by the city having been at peace for generations or something, and building codes have been relaxed (and of course, war has finally caught up with the city again...)
Honestly, I don't know how futuristic machicolations would look, but basically they are just there to allow defenders atop the wall to attack enemies at the base. The machicolations are simply the holes to drop/fire stuff through. So you just need some kind of ledge, with some kind of hole to fire down from.
