Hi everyone,

I was inspired the other day to put together a little Ork scenery piece. It's a giant unexploded Ork nuclear warhead that is waiting to randomly go off - or the poor gretchin who's job it is to manually activate the bomb. Sorry for the image quality. This is my first attempt at painting anything Orky - please comment and critique!

I made it from one of those large tic-tac containers.

I think I need to add an exclamation mark! after the "press 'ere."

Personally, I love it the way it is. It conjures a picture for me of an Ork sitting down and patiently painting it out, tongue poking out the corner of his mouth as he concentrates on the spelling. :p

Very orky - Just needs a gretchin in a cowboy hat sitting on top of it!

Very cool. Now you need to do the rest of Megaton in an orky style.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

one tiny question... why if the orks had the forethought to put their glyph upside down so that the enemy would see it as it crashed to earth did they put the writing the right way up meaning the enemy would see the writing as upside down....

I know they're orks they didn't do it on purpose it was meant to be the other way up all along but the inner grot dosen't like the juxtaposition between the two.....

The truth is that the "Press ere" was raised lettering from the original Tic-Tac container so it had to be painted upside down.

This is actually one of my first attempts at rust. (I paint Tyranids). I did a bit of this same style on my brothers Plague Marines and it turned out good.

Basically, I basecoated black, with a layer of Leadbelcher over that. Then added Mournfang Brown to the rusty areas, and then stippled dots of Ratskin Flesh. I think it turned out looking pretty good.
