I hate when I hit a melancholy mood, and I'm kinda unsure what triggered this one. The question's simple though, if you were given the option would you return to being a child?

Nope.

I treasure being an adult... even though I haven't grown up.

No. Sex and booze are too much fun.

Get on the wrong end of a police officer and you can get the first, and some would argue taxes is exactly the second

Nah. I mean, elementary school, I guess that was fun? Don't really remember. Middle school sucked, high school sucked slightly less. I'd be perfectly fine remaining a college student indefinitely, though!

No. I can drink, make my own rules, and have sex. All three of these things are awesome.

Why the feth would I go back?

Go through puberty again?
Screw that.
I'm in a good place in my life, I have few regrets over the things I've done.
I see no reason to go back and start again, even if I knew then what I know now.

Because as a teenager you can do at least 2 out of 3 of those things and you don't have to pay bills, be responsible, etc...

I'd like to go back to college, though senior year of high school wasn't bad either, though I'd like it to be after January and the great pregnancy scare of twenty ought 7 .

Edit: Insert AvenueQ's "I wish I could go back to college"

Yep. there's still a framed picture of you at your school, with the legend: don't be this guy.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

I'd want to go back to correct some screw ups, but only if I knew what I do now. I'd probably be treated oddly if I was jaded and cynical as I am now, though

Reminds me of that movie "Butterfly effect". What if you did something differently but for some reason one of your relatives dies, or something happens to you?

No, on second thought I wouldn't.

Would I want to go back and do it again? feth no.

Would I want to go back to being a child and it stay that way? feth no.

Would I want to suddenly be about 20 years younger, get to do that again, knowing what I know now? Hell yes.

Sure, I would miss some things, but there knowing what I know now I could do so much better. Both because of all the extra stuff I know, the confidence I have gained, and because I could go through school and university without the drag of undiagnosed dyspraxia and other things, and with proper support for my dyslexia. On top of it all I would have the confidence and knowledge to call out teachers who didn't give a feth about disability rather than sitting there taking it like I did as a kid.

Booze, I would miss a little, but not that much, sex, ye, that would be hard, but at least I would have the confidence to be able to hit on girls and at least give it a try at what the geeky little teenager I was missed out on. If not at least I don't have to go looking in the bushes by canals and woods for porn like we used to.

The downside would be that teachers and adults would probably think I was a mouthy little fether now, because I am much more willing to stand up for myself.

Kids seem to have it easy, until you realize that they're making
the best of circumstances that exist beyond their control. While
we adults have that as well, we still have the power to say,
"Screw it," and walk away from a bad situation. Kids who try
that often find themselves prey. (Adults, too, but my gut feeling
is that we have a better survival rate.)

Yeah, I missed a lot of opportunities as a child/teenager and would like the chance to start over if I could, as long as I have the wisdom I've gained over the years and do things right this time.

Oh the pain, knowing who was win to win the 1988-89 League but being too young to be allowed to bet my life savings (about £3.52p back then) on it!

On first thought being a yoof again is attractive but if I went back and corrected those mistakes/what ifs then I probably would have what I have now. I wouldn't want to change my kids one bit for example but there is something interesting about probably being that bit more confident that would have been fun.
