I originally out that there so i could work out the correct proportions for the hips. Couldnt be arsed to take it out!

what tools are you using to sculpt? Yeah the brown stuff is good, I use grey stuff on certain things they probably are similar. Getting those legs to be a smooth even surface is a very hard thing as I've found out, I got some silicone clay shapers and it really helps me now. But then again you always can cover up any roughness with awesome paint jobs and gear...

@Meade: I have a variety of colour shapers, in different shapes sizes and firmness. I use them to do the finishing work and detail. A generic sculpting tool does the rest. I find myself using an extra firm (black tip) with a cup shape most, particularly on this project.

Yeah the legs are a major pain in the ass, i need to file then again. Now i have the brown stuff i may cut off the rough bits and re-smoothen it. Hopefully awesome paint will cover it! These marines are gonna be pretty beat up so weathering and chipping should sort that out.

So turns out i managed to fix my airbrush after all! Would heartily recommend vallejo airbrush cleaner to anyone.

With that great news i figured i should test out the primer. it works great! No smell so usable indoors, which means i dont have to worry about a bad/fuzzy prime due to weather or flat out not being able to prime. Covers like a dream too, i really do love airbrushes now. Only had it a while and its just changed the way i paint completely.

Of course that led to me priming a mini, picked a random sm which turned out to be an unfinished techmarine.

Of course i couldnt stop there, so i whacked out the green and painted him as a test model! Turns out the 2 colours of green i purchased on a whim work perfectly with scorpion green to give a fantastic looking emerald imho. So here it is, all the other colours are just basecoated. I am very happy right now!

Great job! Keep a bottle of Windex handy for in-between color cleanings, and save your expensive cleaner for the end of the painting session

Some very good modelling here Vit, don't think i'd personally want to take on a true scale project, but your doing it very well.

The sculpt looks very good, but I think the torso need to be bulked out a bit more to line up with the hips

So i decided that now im on holiday for 3 months i should really get my arse into gear. I had a good few days after finishing to vegetate and de-stress, but im starting to get bored so im gonna hit the projects hard.

To that end, ive decided to finally bust out the airbrush again and finish this damn warhound!!! I got disheartened after having my 0.3mm needle break when the make shift airbrush stand i had fell over, but after a bit of testing the 0.2 needle works fine, and actually ive managed to develop enough control to comfortably freehand colours. That said i did mask the weapons to be sure.

So without further ado, heres the progress on the khaki colour, should get the shading and highlighting done after i wake up today.

Oh man..that sucks. broken needle. I already bent one too! Make sure you buy two replacement needle/nozzles.

So tonights progress, got the red trim done on two things, and the method is learned so the rest should go smoothly, very happy with how the red turned out, even if the pic is terribad at showing the gradient. Dont judge its 4am

Okay, it may have taken an all-nighter all the way until 9:30am to do, but i finished all the trim on the warhound! Phew

Ta! I dont mind camouflaged titans, but much like space marines i feel they have a time and place. Bedecked in resplendent livery is how i prefer my machines of war
