So it was greenskins. Thought I smelt something. But then just assumed the psyker hadn't taken a bath.

I bathe... most of the time. The foul greenskin could not stand against my mastery of the warp guided by the emperor.

Gamma, you boys did me proud today, those greenskins were tripping over their own choppas trying to get away from our gunline. Why, I didn't even have to execute any of you for gross incompetence, OR dirtied uniforms! Get some rest, men. You earned it.

And well commanded indeed, Marshall Larkin, It was an honour to slay the wretched greenskins under your leadership.

It was nothing to do with placement, the shots kept deviating, and also, the other guns have the range bonus on you guys so it's not your fault, i was making sure you stayed away from a unit of tank bustas who would have loved to smash the wrath to bits

Report concerning combat action on 17 Iraeth, 687.M41

Commissar Wasabi reporting for the Catachan 222nd Guardsmen Regiment:

My new position overseeing what has been designated as "Gamma Platoon" of this Regiment has brought me new experiences and opportunities of which I thank the Emperor for each day.

Most recently, the opportunity to experience lying in a shrub on the sole spot of ground that is not mud, surveying a rapidly brightening horizon through my magnoculars in an attempt to discern the intentions and capabilities of the Ork menace that had been reported to be in the area. Upon seeing nothing, I quit my cover and turn my gaze upon my platoon as they go about preparations for combat. The men of Gamma are restless, obviously eager for the battle to begin. At Marshall Larkin's request, Gamma has been placed on ambush duty, to come into the battlefield from the Greenskin horde's hopefully unprotected flank and inflict massive casualties in the ensuing confusion. The regiment's other platoon, Alpha has been placed on sentry duty, and are to act as a distraction force to draw the xenos' advance. I don't envy their task, but it's a necessary one. For a man to be able to stare down an Ork Waaagh with little more than his lasgun and his wits is no easy task, but I maintain confidence in our comrade's resolve.

Given Gamma Platoon's potentially more dangerous and taxing role in this upcoming battle, Marshall Larkin saw fit to have me lead the men in the ambush. Ostensibly, my obvious skill, wit, and good looks have earned the confidence of the good Marshall. I vowed to be certain to perform extra admirably in the upcoming action in order to affirm just how rightly placed his confidence is.

As I perform a cursory inspection of the men of Gamma, MY men, I am filled with a sense of pride. These men are the pinnacle of the Imperium's armed forces, the envy of armies the galaxy over. Those that no other army might hope to match in strength and resolve. They go through their preparation routines with determination and vigor, checking equipment, cleaning their weaponry, and stretching their bodies in order to be at maximum efficiency when the charge is called. Private Varrick's boots are on the wrong feet again. The fly of Sergeant Marshall's pants is open wide, after his third trip to use the latrine in the past fifteen minutes, and Special Weapons Officer Guererro has been recently reprimanded for his insistence on constantly referring to the Ork incursion as "The Commissar's mother coming to visit." I am proud to lead these men, and without question, they are proud to be led by me.

Time passes slowly as the Ork horde draws closer, then quite suddenly the unmistakable sound of Ork shootas pierces the air, followed by the sound greenskin chanting and shouting follows. The battle has begun, and the Orks have begun to rush madly towards where Alpha Platoon has taken up positions alongside the Regiment's four Leman Russes, the Catachan Bell, the Emperor's Honour, the Marshall's Wrath, and Death's Gauntlet. The crackle of fire being exchanged by the two forces are suddenly drowned out as the exuberant BOOM of the demolisher cannons beginning to rain hot death down on the hated greenskins. The wondrous cracks and booms of the regiment's holy fury is made all the sweeter by the chorus of dying, terrified greenskins. This is war, and I am in love with every second of it.

Suddenly the vox-caster crackles to life as the voice of Lord Commissar Von Humps begins to emanate from it. "Gamma, the time is now! Attack, for the glory of the Emperor, and the glory of the Catachans!" The Lord Commissar has a penchant for the theatrical, but he's a damn good soldier. "YOU HEARD THE MAN, GAMMA, CHAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!" My manly voice roars out the order, and is soon echoed by the men of my platoon, and we burst from our cover and open fire on the rapidly wavering ork horde.

My men unleashed utter hell on the screaming, raging greenskin advance. I myself observed Sergeant Murray's squad gun down well over half a squad of slugga boyz with a volley of fire I ordered them to deliver. From the combined might of Alpha's static fire, the fire from the crews of the regiment's heavy armour devision, and Gamma Squad's excellently led ambush, the Ork forces began to retreat. I ordered my men to follow after the retreating xenos, maintaining fire into their ranks. Our victory was sealed, and the xenos forces shifted from a slow retreat to an all-out rout when their beloved Warboss suddenly exploded in a shower of gore from some unseen force. Perhaps my latent psychic ability has decided to manifest!

(Addendum: I was later told that our Primaris Psyker Altzer was the cause of the exploding warboss, rather than my own rather considerable psychic power.)

The enemy defeated, and our forces victorious, Marshall Larkin ordered a tactical regroup so that we could begin mop-up procedures, and to take stock of supplies and manpower after the battle. In the heat of battle, our forces only suffered four men having suffered non life-threatening wounds, and have since been healed, read poetry, and returned to fighting condition. In all, this battle could not have been a more resounding success for the 222nd.

Unfortunately, the charge through the hedges that provided my squad cover knocked my peak cap from my head, and caused it to land in the mud. The offending hedge was summarily executed for crimes against an officer of the Imperium. Attached with this report you will find a requisition form for a new one, preferably with more gold inlays. My cap was the only Imperial casualty of the entire battle.

I faithfully await further orders.
The Emperor protects.
-Commissar Wasabi, Catachan 222nd Regiment.
