Ok, one minor disappointment. I cannot use the the alternate cooling stacks because I already glued some pieces on. Not having the directions I didn't know it was one or the other like that. they are not interchangable.

Oh well. Still highly impressed with everything.

Got my box today (and a Happy Valentine's Day to you too, Mark). Very impressed with the stiff cardboard packaging for the boxes. Also, a minor thing, but I like that the empty space in the shipping box was filled with wadded up newspaper. Recycling FTW. Mold lines are small, which is great. Already stated assembling Ada. It was a pretty big box, holding 1 Leviathan, 6 Stormtrooper boxes (plus accessory sprues), and 9 Support Weapons. Makes me wonder just how big my Stage 3 box will be with the 15 vehicles and large amounts of heavy troopers.

I'm going to try to magnetize mine with some rare earth magnets. That way I can use it for different tech levels in current games, they for the options when Iron Core comes out.

Given that we don't have any idea yet what the game difference between the stacks and coolers are, I'm hoping to magnetize mine, too.

Additional: From looking at both sets of instructions, it appears that the bulk of the Capacitor Coolers attach to the same "ports" on the back armor that part G5 goes into x 4. The hoses on the Coolers attach to the same spots as the stacks themselves go. Magnetization appears very doable.

Well I've decided to just modify the stock stacks. I just don't care for the spikey bits on the top. So I will be making a more traditional looking exhaust pipes that come out the top.

I assume you mean the kits and not the instructions Did you get an email off to Paul about the missing models?

I've been at work and unable to do anything until now. Just sent an email to the link you gave. Hopefully will have an answer tomorrow. I'm off, the kids will be home too, but if they bother me while I'm working on these I'll just glue them to the wall in another room. It's not like I haven't before.

Fluff wise, the large stacks are Oil burner stacks, They burn off excess heat generated by the Iron Core engine when it is pushed past safeguards for extra power. The capacitors apparently bleed off energy at a safer rate, but you can't overcharge the engine.

I painted up a test pair today with just a simple thee up and wash. The one on the right has a DFG base, the one on the left has a resin base from Dragon Forge Designs. I wish there was more out there from a fluff and game perspective, the options trick out the figures with all kinds of options is a little overwhelming.

Do some digging on the DFG website. The forums have some rough drafts and information for Organization and bare bones rules.

I've been trying the forums since my package came in and I keep getting a database error. I didn't find much info in the game section either.

I was looking for something reminicent of, but not really faithful to German WWII colors.

Primer - Army Painter Uniform Grey
Armor - Vallejo 830 German Fieldgrey
Undersuit - Vallejo 995 German Grey
Pouches - Vallejo 823 Luftwaffe Camo Green
Weapons - GW Black with Leadbelcher highlights
Wash - GW Nuln Oil
Sealer - Army Painter Matte

I have been spending some time building out a Crusader and there are a few small oversights and one error in the printed instructions that will cause some frustration.

Most importantly:

Step 14 has parts that are not correctly labeled.

The correct part numbers should have been DD3A and DD3B (NOT DD1A and DD1B these are used on the sword)

I will post a complete revised instruction set later but as many of you are assembling these kits now, this is the most frustrating of the errors.

Well, crap.

Mark, did you take your forums down so that you can reorganize for the upcoming rules write-up? Or is this just a typical server host error?

I think I have a good bit of stuff saved on a flash drive, I'll see what I can scare up.

I really really want to do what I've got up as proper Iron Core units. It looks like I could get into the game, as more factions and races roll out.

I also really want to do up a new IG army with these, on GW bases so as to keep base size consistent (not to mention that I'd need to drop one guy per support weapon off the base).

I guess I need to buy some more STs, so I can do both.

Does anyone have a spare Leviathon sword blade they'd be willing to part with? Either type is okay, with a slight preference for the Excalibur. Please PM me if you are interested in selling it or trading for it, or even giving it away for free. I want to make a BFG-scale command ship for my stormtroopers.

Thanks.

Indeed, My ISP decided that they would change database versions without notifying their customers or making backups...!*@*#*&@*(@ Needless to say I will not be staying with them. I started rebuilding the forum but all the past conversations were lost. That on me for not maintaining a database backup of my own.

It is still a WIP so I have not pointed any links to it... you are more than welcome to give it a test drive and post pics http://www.dreamforge-games.com/SMF/

Tyrant, is that nmm on the leg armour or do you have a blue/green color pattern going.

Yesterday's day off was not productive. Got a mule put together and the left handed vulkan, but nothing further since then, kids were home all day, and wife only worked half day. Sometimes I miss those bachelore days.

Had an epiphany.

Have tons of Warlord German helmet heads just laying around.

"Hey, my eisenkarn dudes wear helmets like this, but just with gasmaks."

...

So now my dudes have open faced helmets, and they look awesome. Need to get some more heads.

Do we need to register again for your forum? I tried logging in as I had been registered before, and I get an error.
Also, have you set up the area for Ks supporters yet? I saw a blurb about it on the "using this forum" thread.

Did you send a crew of ninjas over to the ISP headquarters to exact revenge? There was some good info on your forum.

edit: I went ahead and registered again. Thanks!

The protruding leg armor is grey while the majority of the armor is graveyard earth brown. The light source is really tinting the colors I used the camera on my tablet to take that, obviously not the desired result.

Huh. Looks gray and brown on my screen.

I'm thinking of doing up mine in shades of brown and tan. I do that a lot, since I moved to the desert.

I started on an Ada model. Figured since I have 5, I can experiment and make sure my paint scheme works before I spread it to other models.

I've got some fleshtone base down now. Need to do the camo, then touch ups and face at the end, Maybe tomorrow if I'm lucky.

edit: Looking at the pictures, I think I'll be highlighting the armor on the upper thighs and other upper surfaces with some VMC middlestone. I think it will work well with that VMA Dark Yellow base color.
