Somebody replaced all the cobble surrounding the sanc nether portal with netherrack. This has now been fixed, but I'm curious as to who did it and why...

Maybe it wasn't somebody. Maybe it was...

Anyone know what happened to the manor's front door?

Apparently a creeper blew it up, I just finished fixing it all up before that last time out. So all good now.

Oookay, the tower of eternity is now two floors underground. So About ten more floors to go. This is gonna be a long project

I have a question. Could someone be, like, a native guide or something? I need to get to that stone thing, but I'm completely, hopelessly lost.

Just go into the nether portal at the sanctuary. Follow the smoothstone path a bit and after the second set of stairs there should be signs pointing the rest of the way, if I remember correctly.

What stone thing are you talking about?

Is it a building? A natural piece of landscape?

Natural piece of the landscape. If you look at the server map, it's in the upper right, above the Manor. It's basically a huge uneven block of stone sticking up out of a snowy plain.

And I cannot find the Sanctuary. I spawn on the Ork Face, follow the big flaming arrow, and find nothing at the other end.

Actually, I'd be fine if someone could just figure out what the relative coordinates of it would be. I could make if from there, then.

But right now, I'm somewhere around 1500x1000 metres away from 0,0, somehow. I keep getting turned around in the deep forests that are all over the place.

You'll see an X, Y, and Z coordinate set. X = 0, Y = 64, Z = 0 is the sanctuary.

Yes, I get that. Well, didn't know the 0,0 was the Santuary. But like I said, getting back to there isn't the problem. It's getting to the Bastion (as I'm calling it.) I can't figure out Coords from the server map, or even directions. If someone who knows how the Server map is facing could do a little quick minecalculation for the Bastion Coords for me, or if someone who new how to navigate that place could help me, that'd be great. I'll keep wandering, trying to get there, but like I said, I keep getting turned around for whatever reason.

Please don't call it the bastion.

We already have 'The Bastion of Stone', which is a building and now belongs to Laodamia.
It will just get confusing.

It's at:

z: -879
(both negative)
However, when I went, Chowderhead (ShogunFelsi) was there building a house on it, so you may have to chat with him if you want to claim it.

Also remember the map only shows a small section of the world, there are plenty of places around if you look hard enough :-)

How is the map of the server made?

You must have access to the server files directly to make it.

Well, apparently Shogun's doing a 'surprise' on it. Hope I'll still be able to sculpt and live on it.

I don't need a huge house, just one side or so. Maybe sculpt it up into something grand.

The map is made using the c10t mapping tool. I could be wrong, but it appears to be set to a radius of 1000 blocks to keep the image size down.

I'm having the same issue.

Then the server's probably down.

so while building my castle on my new map i fell off of the wall i was building and fell off the cliff my castle is built against and died. i then tried to wander around and find my castle for about 3 hours. i then gave up and downloaded cartographer g so i could find where i was and where i had to go. i literally walked a giant circle around my castle >_<

i think i am going to download one of these texture mods like better than wolves or something so that i have more options when building the interior of my castle.

If you're having problems connecting, it's one of four things:
1) There's an authentication problem (Check here).

2) Server is down. (Check here, also in the sticky thread at the top of this forum).

3) Something is wrong with your internet (Check here). The most common problem I have is accidentally hitting the "turn off wi-fi" button on my laptop. I have no idea why laptops even have this option.

4) Server is hanging (this typically occurs a few minutes after reboot, the server kicks everyone and won't let you log on, just wait a few minutes and it should be OK).

Yeah the server was down for several hours.

Oh and laptops have the turn-off-wifi button for saving power and for use on airplanes or other locations where radio signals are not allowed. :-)

How far away is considered the far lands/unexplored territory?

From my experiences I would say most coordinates over 2000 or under -2000 will be largely unexplored.

I should point out that the Far Lands is the name for the edge of the map, which would take months of walking to reach.
