Hello, we are planning to launch our first ever kickstarter. We have a selection of steampunk and sf scrunts (aka dwarfs) greens, that we would like to get moulded and cast, we're hoping to raise the funds necessary through kickstarter. I've got some pictures here of the greens I have already made, there will be more variations to come. Let me know what you think so far:
Steampunk scrunts (dwarfs)

Zeplin Airship Scrunt (dwarf) Troops

Zeplin Airship Hostess Scrunties (female dawrfs) they serve drinks and use guns

Various Gasmasks

No sure about the steam punk. I would likely focus on the sci-fi dwarves but it looks pretty good.

You do realize the difference is mainly top hat. Head swap, which is already planned, obviously, and bam. SciFi.

There is a word for a wargamer with an empty paint bench.

Dead.

Sure, if you like you're dwarves in victorian suits you're right.

And maybe I wasn't clear. As a KS I would focus on the sci-fi dwarves. I feel there is more of a market than steampunk dwarves. Not that I didn't like the steampunk figures.

I disagree, I like the steampunk dwarfs best!!

These are so cool! Man... furiously trying to think of a use for them . A high class "counts as chaos dwarf" army, perhaps

I think the part sticking up from the hat on the second type of Zeplin dwarfs (the male ones) isn't helpful to them, as a bit of constructive feedback. But that could just be clipped off, of course.

Looking forward to hearing more about this

Im surprised...

I will back depending on "freebies" value... And im very interested. Maybe we see some of the already sculpted scrunts added to the KS as "extras for discount"?

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...
My take on Demiurgs (enjoy the reading):

Mmmhmm. These are a must buy.

I hope the pith helmeted head is available in quantity, because my Praetorians need some "scrunt" auxiliaries!

i already have a LOT Of Bob's Scrunts .. esp the Dog Handlers ... my plan was and still is to use them as a stand in for a renegade based SM Army in place of the fast attack and scouts and such ...

I like the gas mask guys! Althoguh I might prefer slightly shorter snouts... it's reminding me a bit of that comic about the aardvark-thing. (Cerebus?)

the longer snouts is so there is room for a cigar/pipe and a small flask of beer. ya know .. the items no self respecting dwarf would be without

Stretch goal some cowboy hat heads. I'd be all about that (not that I don't like the steampunk ones though)

Yah, I think if the gasmask snot was sorter, and you had a bear pokeing out from the under the mask it would work better. The Long snout and lack of bears almost makes them look like they could be space kobolds.

Also I'm a big fan of the female dwarfs. It looks like they are just head swaps, but to me it looks like it realy worked. They look awsome to me.

I love all the airship dwarfs. They look like an army of dwarf commissars leading an army of dwarf Valhallans. I... I just shed a joy-tear at the thought.

I think my gas mask issue may be because they stick 'out' instead of 'down.' Short muzzles sticking out makes me think of modern gas masks, while a longer assembly hanging down makes me think of WWII-style. This is kind of a mix of the two.

I have no use for these. Zero.
In fact, if the usability of these models (for me) could possibly go BELOW zero, it would.
That said, I will probably support the KS, if the levels are attractive. The models are just that good.

Interesting, although he put the victorian models first rather than the SF ones, I think it might've been better to reverse the order there (given the responses in this thread above, at least).

A couple of bits from Bob Olley in the comments

I asked if there were any lady dwarves in this KS

"As for lady dwarfs, there aren't any in this first Kickstarter project, but it would be great to add some ladies to the range in the future, without beards or at least very closed shaved "

and rosafari asked about Ogres

"Great suggestion, this victorian theme is something I'm really excited about developing and an ogre would make a great addition to future steampunk ranges."

so it sounds as if both are possible in the future if this KS does well"

Yes I'll be absolutely chuffed if we get an ogre or two out of this. Bob sculpts such characterful faces they look great on the larger figures - not that his squats/scrunts aren't awesome too.

For younger gamers who aren't aware of Bob's work check out this:

http://collecting-miniatures.com/olley/index.php/Manufacturers

He did some iconic work for GW during the early years of Rogue Trader/40k including
ogryns, squats and most of the original genestealer cult figures.

one of my favourite Bob sculpt for sheer outthereness - a psychic scrunt who appears to be drinking from a cat
