Alright, so I have a bunch of jump infantry and melee weapons laying around and tried to think of some list that I could use them in and came up with this:

HQ:
Shrike: 185pts
Chaplain, Jump Pack: 105pts

Troops:
3x Scout Squads ( 4 sniper, 1 ML): 3x 75pts (225)

Elites:
10x Vanguard Vets, jump packs, lightning claw pairs: 520pts
10x Vanguard Vets, jump packs, storm shields, powerfists: 570pts
10x Vanguard Vets, jump packs, 5 meltabombs: 245 pts

The plan would be to put shrike with the lightning claw vest and infiltrate them as close as possible to the enemy that I want dead (they would get around 40 attacks that re-roll to wound on the charge not including shrike). I would pair the jump chaplain with the strom-shield powerfist vets so they would get 40 Str 8 ap2 hits on the charge (not including the chaplain. The other vets would assist where necessary as well with the scouts.

What do you guys think? A hilarious list? Is it viable at all?

Resin Printer (minaitures) is a 4K printer with one of the largest build volumes available for a resin printer (192mm x 120mm x 245mm) with an amazing .01mm resolution! This professional printer is one of the best resin printers on the market!

FDM Printer (terrain) also has one of the largest build volumes available for an FDM printer (400mm x 400mm x 450mm) and has an amazing ,05mm build accuracy.

Count as Bloodangels.

Take advantage of DoA rule, and you might have a chance. Otherwise your charging with 30 over priced JP marines with no added survivability.

So are blood angels a viable army? I have quite a few jump infantry just sitting around because space marines don't use them much.

Throw in a few stormshields and you still wont be winning any games.Assault termies would fare better, and they still suck. Drop 1 pfist, 1 scout squad , and 1 meltabomb, for another chappie. A ten man termmie squad with lightning claws is cheaper, and arguably more survivable with 2+ 5++ and deepstrike. As much fun as you will doubtless have playing this list in turn one and two (you may still gain a 2nd turn charge with shrike tho), your VV's are not more surviveable than tactical marines and will be eaten to pieces by; Deldar/eldar bulletspam, Hellturkey, tau in general (damn tau) and noise marines (of all the damn things!). This can work with maybe one of the new chapter tactics of the FW website though. Hate to dampen your happy meal, but that's all it is. A happy meal. For things that eat 3+ saves. But I doubt you can be tarpitted.

EDIT: it is spelled shenanigans, not shenangans

Play BA and make the VVs regular assault marines, ditch the scouts and then spend the points you save on something useful

But no where near as bad as vanguards. And VVs still die like normal marines...

Also, if you play BA you can take sang priests w JPs - fnp on assault marine scoring units is about as good as it come for troops choices.

BA points are not THAT much overcosted. a base bare bones 5 man ASM in BA is 100. SMC is 85 (w/out vet sgt )

Plus they get DoA and they're troops... Worth the 15 points in my opinion

Oh I meant BA vanies lol. They are still rocking the old C;SM pointscosts. But BA asm are pretty much better in all aspects.

Tacs are a tad more expensive, but you can mitigate this by taking the free missile launchers. though you do have to pay the vet. sgt. tax and 10 man for them.

I would say this list is fine if it's 1000points

You spent 600 points on one squad of vanguard veterans.....

Same price you can get two chapter masters and two units of ten honour guard!
