Wondering Why the Emperor Left
|
I'm participating in a Killteam Tournament with a few friends on Tuesday and I wanted some feedback on the list I was thinking of bringing:
Nob + 'Eavy Armour + Twin-linked Shoota
Nob + 'Eavy Armour + Shoota/Rokkit kombi-weapon +Ammo Runt
Nob + 'Eavy Armour + Shoota/Skorcha kombi-weapon
18 Shoota Boyz
The three Nobz will have my specialist rules and one will probably be my leader
How does this list sound? I'll be fighting Nids, IG, Space Marines and either Necrons or CSM.
Thanks Dakka

Finally, an Ork kill-team
Seems pretty decent overall, but you will hurt against tanks with just one S8 BS2 shot (even with re-roll its roughly 4+ to hit)
Maybe drop a boy and get a big shoota. With armourbane could be a boost to your AT.
Biggest issue is that the game can slow down and get wonky as hell with so many models.
Best Ork KT list I've seen was 5 Tankbustas and 5 Warbikes

^ well there ya go. lol. my god that is a deadly 200pt list Automatically Appended Next Post: go go gadget power maul marines I have decided to give all my vet ASM Sgts in my BA army power mauls, for several reasons and sometimes even my tac sgts.
what reasons you ask? well, most armies only have 4+ armor or better the +2 str is nice for killin nobz among others in challenges. and for popping most vehicles (7 str on the charge ) anyway back on topic... you would probably face my 5 tac marines w/ a power maul sgt and corbulo (not sure if allowed tbh, only played 1 friendly kill team game before). so make of that what you will. or my DA kill team of 5 vets 2 w/ plasma gun 3 with PW/ SS hah!

Not true. There is no limit on maximum AV, which makes a battlewagon with nobz a pretty good choice.

They updated it recently, no 2+ saves, maximum armour limit, clarifications on Necron "we'll be back" and stuff like that

One thing I'm thinking is maybe replacing the two kombi weapons with the twin-linked shootas; Being able to reroll failed hits would increase the reliability of my Nobz performances.

After reading the killteam rules, I just want to have a Deffkopta specialist with the Shrouded special rule. 2+ jink save seems broken.

No 2+ saves, but 2+ cover is just fine. At T5 W2 no less =///
I'd say run it with big shoota rather than rokkits, pretty damn reliable against the stuff you really wanna kill - Tau and other heavy weapon dudes

Yea a Flash Git or two would be amazing in the tight city fights of kill team.
Is all shoota boys the way to go? I feel like over watch may not be as devastating if it just single model combat, so Slugga boys may actually work.
12 Shoota 6 Slugga? 9 or each?

However, you may use the models where they appropriately represent a Codex entry (eg. Death Korps of Krieg as Imperial Guardsmen). • Rules and unit entries from other Warhammer 40,000 expansions, eg Apocalypse, Planetstrike, Cities of Death, Crusade of Fire and Spearhead are not in use. • You may not take allies or fortifications. • You must purchase complete squads. • As no units may be kept in reserve, you may not take any Flyers. • No model in your Kill Team may have more than two Wounds (before any upgrades gained from Leader rolls on the upgrade chart). • You must have at least three models in your Kill Team. • Any game rule, Unit, upgrade or psychic power that produces extra models will have no effect in the game. • No vehicle can have a combined Armour Value of more than 33 (Side Front and Rear combined). • No model may have a 2+ save. http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m3460063a_Kill_Team_Rules_Pack_2013.4.pdf Automatically Appended Next Post: Dakkamite wrote:No 2+ saves, but 2+ cover is just fine. Actualy, Imho, you may not get a 2+ of any kind, as cover is a save, so someone with 2+ cover gets 3+. I'm probly wrong on this one.

Why wouldn't you run with this list
30 gretchin
3 runtherds
7 loota's
195 pts.
Let the enemy try to make 37 wounds in half an hour.
In that same half hour you'll be moving gretchin and shooting with loota's (if you are fast enough you can shoot with a couple of gretchin)

This. Way to blow GW
Why wouldn't you run with this list
Because not everyone wants to break the system.

My understanding is just 2+ saves, but I prefer your interpretation honestly.

hmm i do understand that. in that case, I'd go with this list
3 warbikes
1nob with powerclaw
4 nobs
2 with big choppa's
200 pt.
the twinlinked dakka guns are pretty reliable to shoot something down and you are fast enough to get into close combat. the nobs wil give the second blow in close combat.
you won't win tournaments with this list but you'll put up a good fight
