Lurker, turned poster by this problem.
I am seeking a scale-appropriate trailer or other towable item to be towed by my leman russ' while on "display".
The Imperial Quad Launcher "Thudd Gun" on Forge World ( http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Imperial_Guard/Imperial_Guard_Emplacements/IMPERIAL-QUAD-LAUNCHER-THUDD-GUN.html) is something close, but I do not believe from what information that I could find (little) that I could position the tow hook and support arms of the model such that it would look like it was being transported.
The look I am really more interested in is a baggage trailer. I envision it stuffed with rucksacks, ammo crates, jerry cans and other miscellanea. I do not know if such a thing is even close to within canon for WH40K, but I would like it anyway!
Can anyone help? I am certainly open to non- GW models, as Forge World's take on the subject is impossible to track down it seems.
Many thanks in advance!

Am I going mad? I remember forgeworld doing a transport trailer. It had a generator or a simple transport option, but I can't find any reference to it all. Can anyone else remember this thing?

It existed, but like a lot of FW products, is now sadly OOP. Personally, I'd welcome a return to these kind of rear-echelon miniatures, over a new Mk of Space Marine armour, but I appear to be in a minority.
Best bet is getting lucky on eBay, but it's a long shot.
OP, although I have no info for you, I'll be watching with great interest to see what this thread turns up.

It was released with the Taros Campaign book, whenever that came out. It was not a hot seller from my understanding and thus when the molds ran out they opted to not spend the money to revise them.
It was not until 2012 that they finally ran out of stock, and from what I had been told they stopped producing the model when the molds started being futzy... in 2009.

I was able to find a few glimpses of them with google-fu. Honestly, they are not impressive and I would like to find an alternative. The Elysian buggies that frequently also showed up in image searches did catch my eye, but that is off-topic.
I would be grateful for any suggestions about scale-appropriate alternatives from outside of GW as well as suggestions for building one from 'scratch.' I have read some ancient forum posts where the authors made some pithy remarks about how 'easy' it would be, but I am not looking for it to be gak.

SilverMK2,
Thanks *very* much for the links.
Can anyone speak to a comparison between 1:35 and/or 1:32 scale and GW's 28mm (30mm?) scale? I was able to find a few sites that suggest 1:35 is approximately equivalent to a figure in 46mm scale. If accurate, I do not necessarily think that it would be a problem in this particular use case. Who is to say how large or small the imperial guard's ammo and baggage trailers are anyway?

The problem with GW's "scale" is that they don't really have one. All their vehicles are horrifically scaled and each one is different.
Most imperial vehicles are way too high and wide for their length, yet they are not actually in scale with the infantry and should really be much longer if they were in 28mm scale.
The only issue you may have in 1/35 or 1/32 scale is if you get a kit with weapons, as GW's weapons are in heroic scale, which means they are preposterously large (as in the shooty end is about 10x larger in diameter than a correctly scaled gun would be). Otherwise most vehicle bits like trailers should be reasonably OK. And given the first kit is about £9 for two different ones, I would imagine it would not be too heart breaking to order one and find it is not quite right

Ebay has a few 1/35 scale trailers. http://www.ebay.com/bhp/1-35-trailer
Hobbylinc has tons of stowage, ammo, cans, etc... http://www.hobbylinc.com/cgi-bin/s8.cgi?tag0_i7=222&cat_s=SJB Automatically Appended Next Post: brendan wrote:

1/35 scale figures are much taller. The vehicles are just about right, often just a bit larger. As SilverMK2 points out the weapon barrels will not match. 1/35 barrels will be long and skinny, while GW barrels tend toward short and thick.
