£112 free postage on evil bay best deal I could find, the one I had cost me a bout £45 a few years ago so quite happy with this find.

Have a look around though you get good deals all over, I was lazy and found this and thought that will do, compared to the rest on there it was the best price.

You don't need to thin the Vallejo air paints dood.

I do tend to use distilled water, regular tap water can cause mineral deposits to build up and stop your ab running smoothly

No, I used the thinners for the GW Red Gore paint as I have no colour in the Air range (as of yet ) that was right or near to the colour needed.

The Tamiya thinners works great and does not alter the colour, worked better than water to be honest.

I bought the Vallejo airbrush cleaner as it was quite cheap in the same shop I got the paints, But I have heard windex works well (no doubt is even cheaper )

oh yeah...Airbrushing would not be affordable for me if I had to use pre-made AB cleaner all the time.

All you need is a spray bottle of windex and a big refill jug of windex. I just spray windex in the cup, and spray it onto a white paper towel until no color comes out, wipe it out with a rag then spray the nozzle area, retract the needle back (so I don't bend it) and then use the citadel stippling brush to clean out any gunk (that is the only use I've found for the citadel stippling brush)

I have good, filtered city water, so minerals aren't usually a problem in my water, but If I had the iron-filled rusty water from where I grew up, that would probably be a problem.

Hot DOG that finished piece is gorgeous, mate!!

I skimmed the last few pages so initially I didn't realise you had painted and weathered the whole thing. I actually thought you had a bought a pre-painted kit.

I salute your skill - this looks like one of the awesome set pieces that Forbidden Planet show in their stores.

P.S. This piece is the best thing to come out of the Iron Man films.

P.P.S. Just exalted your post with the completed Iron Man. Cos it damn well SHOULD be exalted.

Spraying one self in the face is not recommended, also no mention of it in the destruction manual

No real damage as the paint allowance nozzle was opened only slightly thankfully, I got more sprayed in my mouth and nose to be honest, don't swear as you drop stuff

I looked at a bag of bits from hasslefree miniatures, but I was not sure if they would be that much use

nice idea to go with gears for base detailing...that amount should last quite some time i think...

my own preference tho for gears is now more into plasticgears from wasted wound up cars and other toys...the plastci is rather nice to cut... but then again the metal ones are way thinner...depends on the project i would say...

and the plus side...i get mine for free^^
