Yeah you need that little Culexus bastard in your list at a NOVA. at the pivotal moment he pops up and you unload. unmodified invis is ballz.

Okay, Emperor's loyal servants, I have another Sororitas build in need of feedback. I recently bought three more transports (for a total of nine), allowing me to go almost fully mechanized. This list needs two CADs, and I've been getting good mileage out of a Canoness on a Quad Gun, so that's in here as well. I'm looking for guidance on how to spend my last few points... on Laud Hailers, combi-flamers, or extra bodies, or maybe on something I haven't thought of.

CAD1
Jacobus
BSS x5 w/ flamers x2
BSS x5 w/ flamers x2 & Rhino
Doms x5 w/ meltas x4 & MM Immo
Doms x5 w/ meltas x4 & MM Immo
Doms x5 w/ meltas x4 & MM Immo
Rets x7 w/ HBs x4 & Simulacrum
Rets x7 w/ HFs x4, Simulacrum, & Rhino
Rets x7 w/ HFs x4, Simulacrum, & Rhino

CAD2
Canoness
BSS x5 w/ flamers x2
BSS x5 w/ storm bolters x3
Exorcist
Exorcist
Exorcist

Aegis Line w/ Quad Gun

The basic approach is to leave the Canoness in the backfield on the quad gun, position the HB Rets with a good field of fire (should they be with her in the Aegis?), and use the small flamer and storm bolter squads to defend the Exorcists and home objectives. The Doms scout up and try to soften up the big stuff and maybe contest an objective. The next wave is three Rhinos, two full of rending heavy flamers (w/ Simulacra & extra bodies) and one with Jacobus and some BSS flamers.

I have about 60 points left. I could get Laud Hailers for the Ret Rhinos, a priest or some extra bodies for the Jacobus Rhino, or a bunch of combi flamers to spread around. Or something else? I could downgrade Jacobus to a Canoness and maybe dump Simulacra to squeeze extra points.

Thanks for the help! My meta has a tough time dealing with six hulls in my usual all-comers build, so I’m excited to see what I can do with nine.

If you're going to take a canoness on Quad and Jacobus, take a Bastion with Quad and HB.

Put Jacobus and the Canoness with the Rets in the Bastion. It's hilarious.

Also, convert some Repressors.

Jancoran,

Yeah, he was very necessary, that the summoned Screamers just straight hit him without having to roll 6's made Invisibility that much worse. If I play NOVA next year, it'll be fluffy events unless they nerf Invisibility.

Yeah I probably wouldnt go to NOVA unles they fix that.

culexus is critically good though. My Tau force has learned this value at the Bay Area Open. Just one round of him would have won me my last game. His big Dawg star would have been exposed and all my stuff could have obliterated what was left. Invis made the difference, even with the ITC rules and saved him. he's also a good player so notto take anything away from him but I definitely should have gone with my gut on the Culexus. I took the Inquisitor with Servo Skulls instead and that also paid off but i want to now modify to take both.

Agreed on all; I didn't run him at ATC with my WarCon and he would have been clutch there; if the Screamers didn't auto-hit, I think it would have been a much closer game. I do love servo skulls; I just wish I could buy them for Coteaz.

So I thought I would make this post for two purposes; first to stimulate the Tactica a little and to help me with organizing my Sisters of Battle Army as I add some new additions.

I recently start a http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/700674.page on DakkaDakka to get back into painting and have now posted all my painted Sisters of the Order of Our Martyred Lady.

Painted and ready for battle:
Canoness
Saint Celestine
Priests (x5)
Sisters Superior (x7)
Battle Sisters with Bolters (x37)
Battle Sisters with Melta Gun (x6)
Battle Sisters with Flamer (x4)
Battle Sister with Heavy Bolter (x4)
Battle Sisters with Storm Bolter (x3)
Battle Sisters with Multi-Melta (x2)
Sister with Simulacrum Imperialis (x2)
Seraphim Superior (x2)
Seraphim with Hand Flamers (x4)
Seraphim (x14)
Repentia (x7)
Hospitillar
Dialogus
Immolator
Rhino (x5)
Exorcists (x2)

To be painted:
Immolator (x2)
Sisters Superiors with Bolters and Icon (x3)
Repentia Mistress
Avenger Fighter Bomber
Battle Sisters with Melta Gun (x6)
Battle Sisters with Heavy Flamer (x6)

If you check out my PLOG you can see the current build of the units, mainly a mechanized force of Battle Sisters, supported by Exorcists backed up by Deep Striking Seraphim and a Scouting Dominion Squad. Suggestions on various types of builds in the 1000, 1500 and 1850 ranges would be appreciated…as well as some visits to my small PLOG would not go amiss.

Pure Sister's builds preferred.

Thank you in advance,

Captain Brown

PS: If anyone has old Mark I Rhinos they are looking to part/trade with I am still searching for three more to complete the mechanization of my Sisters.

Very nice! Unfortunately, I sold/traded all my Mark Is and replaced them with the newer variants.

You may not need to run the rets as 7, an idea is run them as 5 and have a rhino for your 5 man walking bss squad, but thats up to you, having 3 bodies in the way of some specials can be useful.

If you're going to run rets, you want a Repressor so all 4 can fire out the top and stay safe.

Repressors in general are the bee's knees and the cat's whiskers. They are such fire magnets that they allow other units to work uninhibited.

Repressors really, really love grav spam. It's their favorite thing. They basically have big signs that say "Me Me! pick me!" They'll shrug off 15 lascannons and then 2 grav shots will double immobilize them for the fail.

I get why it exists - the idea was "lets come up with a gun better against big things than small things" to counter the proliferation of giant stompy robots (dreadknight, riptide, wraithknight, etc) for marines, who shouldn't really have such things.

But it wasn't half done ham-fistedly; instead creating a gun which is just flat-out better than every other astartes heavy weapon.

And trust me, the 'auto-immobilize' is even more annoying if you try using assault-focused walkers.

I just ordered some Sisters off Ebay to make a Kill Team.
Here's the list I'm thinking of running.
Celestian Squad
Celestian Superior, Bolt Pistol, Melta Bombs, Power Weapon (Leader)
2 Celestian Sisters w/ Bolters
Celestian with Multi-Melta (Weapon Specialist)
Celestian with Flamer (Guerilla Specialist)

Sister's Squad
Sister Superior, Bolt Pistol, Melta Bombs, Power Weapon (Combat Specialist)
2 Battle Sisters w/Bolters
Battle Sister with Multi-Melta
Battle Sister with Flamer

I also have a Melta Gun and 2 Sisters with Storm Bolters as well. Thoughts?

I think the 7 Rets vs. 5 commentary was directed at my list posted above, and thanks for the responses. If I had another Rhino I'd have to consider squeezing one more transport in there, but I don't. The 7 vs. 5 dilemma stems from my wanting to have a couple of expendable bodies in each unit before I have to start pulling off heavy weapons. The heavy flamers could travel lighter since it's the tank and not (hopefully) the extra bodies that gets the flamers into range. Bringing them to 5 would save a few more points, but I'd have to spend cash in order to spend them on anaother transport. The heavy bolters are almost always posted up somewhere with good sight lines and tend to attract random long range fire from across the board... 2 extra sisters sometimes means a second round of full-strength shooting. If I need the points, though...

Thanks again. Any other thoughts on my mostly-mech'd list and what to spend an extra 40-60 points on?

Faced a white scar army this weekend with my 30k emperor's children. Got stomped, but was not looking at winning.

I want to re-face that army however using my sisters, but I am unsure as to how I would go about it.

The HQ was Khan + Chaplain + Veterans on bikes with Apothecary and stormshields + grav guns.

rest of the army was a slew of tactical squads with a single grav cannon in rhinos.

He won first turn so scouted everything to the middle of the table. With the tactical doctrines and grav amps, I was losing 1-3 units per turn.

I am unsure how a sister's army would be able to deal with this.

Do grav weapons affect void shields? The way I see it is they never cause a pen or glance, they simply immobility on a 6 VS army and you cannot immobilize a void shield. If that works, then I could see using a few exorcists protected by one to un-mech him.

Inqusitor + Skulls to block redeployment, then use your superior range weapons (like exorcists) to set conditions by hurting this mobility in key spots. Force him to fight you in waves. How do you normally run your sisters?
