anonymous source on Faeit 212 wrote:I can confirm the reports of Astra Tempestus and Militarum leaks inside. Full stat pages and lore for the Taurox, Taurox Prime and Scions. Scions are WS 3 BS 4 Str 3 To 3 with Hot-shot Lasguns and Carapace armor. They can upgrade a number of models to have Plasma Guns, Melta Guns or Overcharged Lasguns. May take a Taurox or Chimera as dedicated transport. There is also a Scion Command Squad, but I forget the difference, they have the option of taking the Taurox Prime as dedicated transport instead.

Taurox is approx. the cost of a lone marine in a Rhino, 11 10 10 for armor and rerolls failed terrain rolls, comes mounted with an Autocannon and can hold 10 models. Taurox Prime is approx. 2 more marines in that rhino but comes with your choice of Taurox Missile Launcher, Battle Cannon or Gatling Cannon. Same armor and transport capacity as the regular model.

Other major part of the book is an apocalypse battle report between Tau and Necrons and painting guide for those beautiful Scions.

anonymous source on Faeit 212 wrote:The battle cannon on the Taurox Prime is a 'Taurox Battle Cannon'. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but it is just Str 7 Ap4 Blast. It can be upgraded for the price of a sergeant to the Gatling Cannon which is Heavy 10 Str 4 AP - or a further sergeant to get the Missile Launcher which is your standard Heavy 2 Frag/Krak combo. The Prime also comes with a mounted Hotshot Volley Gun like the Scions can take which is TL Salvo 2/4 Str 4 Ap 3. Both the Taurox and Taurox prime have 2 additional firing points.

Scions also come with Deep Strike and Move Through Cover. 5 of them come in at the same cost as a 5 man marine tac squad, additional models are 1 Eldar Ranger each. The Scion command squad is the same cost as a 5 man Assault squad, can be upgraded with a Medic, Vox Caster and Banner. The Tempestor is Ldr 9 and all Tempestus squads within 18 inches can use his leadership for morale, pinning, etc. In addition, the Tempestor is considered a junior officer and can give 1 command as per current IG rules. Any command squad models not upgraded may replace their Hotshot Lasguns with Hotshot Volley Guns, Meltaguns or Plasma Guns.

And the Taurox Prime can be taken by regular Scions as well, I had made an error in the previous bit.

BTW some leaked pics from an upcoming WD showing Vendettas in Battle led to the speculation, that we might get a new Vendetta plastic sprue.

Catachans and Cadians are covered in the new codex. Catachans are not going to direct only.

I'm interested in seeing the transport and the Stormtroopers. The Ogryns are going to be ugly bastards like always.

Sigh, and the Fantasy release is pushed back.

What a shame since they only have 4 books to go to fully update every army to the current edition.

I hope it's not another super heavy transport, IG already has three of those: the Gorgon, the Stormlord and the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT. I do hope that Ogryn will get decent rules, I have a bunch lying around, but I can't really justify using them on the tabletop, and it's a shame since I love the models.
It'f they give them better rules, they will probably get an assault transport to go with them so people have to buy both.

We "knew" it was 40k coming next, we got Knights, 40k has had its turn and it isn't around Christmas, therefore the next release should be fantasy.

Well, ignoring The Hobbit stuff, all we've had is alternating 40k/fantasy from memory.

I do hope the plastic stormtrooper rumors are true. I love the Kasrkin, but the lack of options in pose always made buying as many as I wanted something I couldn't get around to doing. It's one of the few things GW could release now that I'd be unreservedly interested in.

Of course, I'm not looking forward to a likely $50 for 10 price point on them since they are Elites, but you can't have everything.

Just checked the GW website for any clues. The only things missing are rough riders but these might have been dropped ages ago as they didn't fit any of the other regiments stocked / modelled.

I just want more vehicles & Cadians on quad bikes.
That regiment that uses giant turkeys as mounts in one of the GG novels would also be very cool.

I don't see any sense in the transport rumor at all. For one, people have mentioned that we already have them from FW and the baneblade variant kit, and with GW pushing escalation on us then we already have one in their eyes at least. Plus a big transport sounds to me like a non-release unless the "bullgryns" are really, really good in CC. Because we have no super ridiculous close combat unit like terminators and other SM units, so why would it make sense to give IG a Land Raider equivalent? It doesn't at all haha.

I could only see it as a Command HQ transport that would allow other options to take place. Better communications to bring in reinforcements, more accurate orbital strikes, give rerolls to units as it gives orders. Maybe they are going to build that massive tank that carried other tanks. We already have the powered armored marines in suits of power armor(centurians), and terminators in terminator armour (dreadknights) why not tanks inside tanks? For the love of God we even have tyranids inside tyranids totally forgot about those.

It seems like a missed opportunity if no new regiments come out in plastic (with an optional supplement to boot), but all things in due time I guess.

Every long term 40k player has an IG and/or Ork army they want to build someday. Just like every long term 40k player ends up with multiple Space Marine armies.

Dude, you might be right.... With GW all about the reach back to the past, all these epic scales becoming 28mm scale, imagine this vehicle as long and wide as a malcador, but 2x or 3x as tall.... It could be possible.... Especially if the rumor of the "transport" carrying a unit of Ogryns....

Well, they've stopped porting FW stuff directly into Codices, so anything new will be actually new. So not a gorgon or crassus, but something different.

Of course, the FW transports are all superheavies, and this sounds more like a 4HP Landraider/Battlewagon equivalent. Dont' forget, BWs can carry 20 models, meaning they could haul 10 ogryn.

I think a Leviathan might be a bit big for a vehicle rumored to hold a squad of Ogryn. The rumor says "roughly Land Raider sized" not the size of a castle on a Baneblade. I personally don't think I want a big transport for my IG like that, but eh, it's only a rumor at this point.
