Since dozerblades are dirt cheap now, if you can model it, would you leave home without one on every one of your tank?

Reducing the chance of immobilizing yourself from 16.66% to 2.77% is too good to pass up - especially for the hilariously low points cost now.

Now I know this usually boils down to aesthetic, and dozer blades for Space Marine vehicles look too Chaos-y in my opinion (they're basically spikes), but the ones for IG vehicles look decent enough.

On the other hand, many people might not like the look of making their tanks look like construction vehicles

your take?

I don't have any dozer blades mounted. Mostly because, until recently, they were stupid expensive.

Now that they're cheap, I'm still only sort of ho hum about them. Most of the time, my vehicles aren't going to be needing to move through terrain, and most of them can still do fine, even if immobilized.

It would really just be for the transports that I'd take them, I think.

I might possibly start adding them to russes if I wind up building any more, just for the aesthetic, but probably not.

I took them all the time with the old guard codex. Even though they were expensive, being able to move through terrain without worrying about throwing a track is pretty great and I love the look.

Most of my ork vehicles which can't mount a deffrolla have a reinforced ram for similar reasons.

I just wish you could actually use them to smash down barricades.

There is actually a user on DakkaDakka named Dozerblades. Though that would be a cool name for a big scary guy.

More relevant I wouldn't take them except maybe on CSM vehicles since they are the ones who need to get to the enemy most. Even then it shouldn't be much of an issue unless your tables are packed full of terrain.

On moon miranda.

I almost never bring dozerblades (in part because they were puzzlingly expensive in the last book), though I model them on my Demolisher pattern tanks to represent their better armor/cool factor.

I used to take them all the time when my FLGS only had area terrain (forests and rubble, stuff like that). I run 3 rhinos at 1500 points, and 15 points is a worthwhile investment for the freedom of movement it gives you. Occasionally I would put them on my Predators, since it would give me the ability to reliably drive up on top of piles of rubble and get a good view of the battlefield.

Nowadays we have a lot more buildings and impassable LOS blocking terrain, so I've begun to skip dozer blades in favor of 5 pt upgrades elsewhere. But if I were making a TAC list with no knowledge of what sort of terrain I was going to be facing, I would almost always take dozer blades.

I don't need dozerblades. My Wave Serpents function just fine without them.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Ok, to be fair I do want to make a looted Serpent for Orks that has a reinforced ram.

I never used to use dozer blades in the IG dex. They were expensive and I play with more buildings than area terrain.

In the new AM codex they are a pretty decent value. If you play in area terrain it could be well worth the points. It is a very meta dependent choice.

Dozer blades on rhinos are a joke though. You pay a very large percentage of the cost of a rhino for a small improvement to avoid immobilization.

I'm very tempted to build all my Ruses with dozers just because I think they look much better with them than without.

The same reason I put sponsons on all my tanks as well, even if I don't put a weapon in them.

I have 2 rhinos with the dozer blades and pay for them when I use those rhinos to keep WYSIWYG. They rarely do anything.

However, I do get bolder with my tank moves when i have them than otherwise.

I use dozer blades on my devil dog and chimera so they can whizz about on my boards area terrain with impunity. I've read a few battle reports where vehicles have been immobilised at just the wrong moment and I don't want that to happen to me. Actually on the first game I used my chimera I rolled a 1 for its very first terrain test, fate I say!

Depends on te vehicle. For my two exterminators (w/ heavy bolters/las cannon) no. For my two punishes w/bolters all around, yes. Weapon range is the reason forthis.

On my chimeras no. Except for yarricks chimera. The one that him and 5 ogryns ride in.

I used to use dozers to great effect on demolishers, back before they were heavy. Bursting "kool-aid style" through a wall and nailing a vehicle with demolisher/lascannon was priceless. I think that punishers, demolishers and hellhounds are the best tanks for them, as the short range really benefits from resistance to immobilised results. Seems very important to give one to a Pask punisher, the last thing you want is to lose a hull point and immobilise your warlord.

The image with all the dozer blades is my IG armor division, I had modeled it for coolness or as extra armor on the previous codex, in the current codex I'll probably do the same unless it's on a important vehicle.

Never know when they're going to go back up to stupid costs, so I'm planning on magnetizing mine as I work on my renegade IG.

I'm not sure yet if I want to glue or magnetize the trench rails for my DKoK, when I get to them.

in my 1850 list, every tank has a dozerblade. (speaking of which, if anyone has a chimera dozer blade for me, I would love you forever but not give you any money. Ok, I'll give you money.) But my 1850 list is a themed list where everything has that camo cloak style equipment. To play it correctly, I'll be hiding in terrain all day. I don't like a 1/6 chance of losing my tank when they're always moving to and from terrain.

Instead of dozer blades, you could model track guards or bigger treads to count as a "rough terrain modification." (kind of like tire chains/spikes, maybe?)

You could take a page out of the Taurox Prime's book, and put magnetic plates on the bottom.

As a CSM Player I never bothered with these things on my Rhino's. As a matter of fact I have owned 5 Rhino's so far and since owning my first 3 have converted 3/5 into Predators. Then I gave them Destroyer Blades

But seriously. Why waste any points on something so easily popped in the first place? My CSM Rhinos cost 35 points, are AV11 (Like all Rhinos) and it dies to Fire Warriors / Guardians.

Nah I wouldn't buy those things on anything that doesn't have that sexy 13 front armor value.

A long time ago, I saw someone with a winter-themed guard army. He had rough terrain mods that were dozer blades, but he cut them down the middle and then repositioned the blade into V shape. The idea was that on a winter world, it would be terribly convenient if his tanks had snow plows on them.
